There are some really good things in here that will help. One other thing that will help if your mind goes into overdrive when you try to sleep is to keep a notebook by your bed. Writing down all the worries, mental check lists, or what ever you're thinking of will help. It's a good way to reassure yourself that you won't forget that important thought and help you relax a little.

When my boyfriend cant sleep usually a back rub followed by a blow job do the trick nicely. For me, I read a boring book and I am out in under 10 minutes. I use War and Peace for this. Long winded authors promote great sleeping habits.

^^ those are his only 2 posts... what an idiot, how come he has a custom thingy (whats email i am stupid).

on the subject i sometimes have that problem when i have too much in my mind, i usually use that time to study or catch up on my reading then i fall asleep in the morning, skip a class or two and then its all good.

the whats email im stupid is the thing you see when you havent really activated your account. so not only is he a moron he isnt even a real member yet. be afraid when he does. i have a feelin he will be banned quick with stuff like this

I don't think anyone else mentioned this but sometimes I will just hop in the shower and relax for a minute...the warm water is somewhat soothing. My sleep habits are always f'ed up so I stick with Soma, but I will always feel groggy the next morning no matter how long I sleep. Also if I have a million things running through my mind, I literally try to picture just a black space to clear my mind and that helps.

I'm lazy, I didn't bother to read the other suggestions; some of this may be repeats.

Routine. your body cycles through daily cycles, obey and exploit these.

Don't eat 3 hours beforehand. remember when we thought of food as energy? before red bullshit.

Meditate.

Masturbate.

Seek, observe and learn the rhtyms of life found all around you. In the planet and plants. In animals. Everything on this planet is based on a binary system of light and dark. Yin and Yang. (NOT ying yang!)

Once you can sense this rhythm (think sine wave) exploit where you are on the wave. You can either exaggerate the current rising or falling. Or you can wind it up like a wind-up car. Pull that shit in one direction to exploit the system. The further you move into yin the greater yang reaction you'll get.

Next, apply this theory: if you are feeling a little sleepy, act on this and go to sleep. if not, generate allot of yang. get up, dance around, get inspired, get pissed (not drunk, liquor sucks) get moving, move blood, burn calories. think fire and rising.

be sensitive, still sensing the rhythm, don't over do it. when you get to the highth of the sine wave, acknowledge that you are there. prepare for the fall. learn to relax (this is a skill that has to be cultivated) When its time, get your ass to bed to ride the wave back down. this is where all the wound-up yang will recoil, manifesting as yin. you will be tired. think water and falling.

the better you get at this, the easier it will be.

the harder you try, the more you will fail. only by interpreting yin/yang will you succeed. trying is yang, and will keep your mind active. you want peace and settling, something that is harder to do than it sounds.

only take my advice, ignore all other suggestions.
