A few things to add on rules.

Wisconsin could not have gone to the Rose Bowl even if Michigan had been ranked number 2. This is because one BCS rule states more than 2 teams from 1 conference cant be in BCS bowls. (OSU and Michigan already filling the quota)

For the same reason Auburn, who was also in the top 10, couldnt go for a BCS bowl. (Florida and LSU already filling quota).

So that takes care of all the top 10 teams making number #11 ND an easy pick for an at large bid. On a side note ND is way overrated and probably shouldnt be in the top 25. They havent won a bowl since 1994 (Not just a BCS but a bowl in general) and will fall to LSU.

A few things:

1. Adrian Peterson is going to play against Boise State. I sincerely think that BSU has a chance to beat OU. BSU's run D is solid. They've only given up 5 rushing TD's this year. Their weakness is in the pass D. If Paul Thompson can continue to throw the ball like he did against Nebraska, we'll be in trouble, but I'm not convinced that he'll be able to do that....one game doesn't do enough.

2. Every year that Notre Dame becomes BCS eligible, they'll make it. Call it political, call it greedy, whatever. It's basically a law...like gravity.

3. Bakaduin is exactly right. There can't be 3 teams from one conference in the BCS bowl games. Not that I don't think that Wisconsin doesn't deserve their shot, BUT...

4. ...if you look at Wisconsin's schedule this year, they kind of had it easy to begin with. They lost their only tough game of the season against Michigan. That was their shot. Just like Michigan already had their shot at Ohio State. How's this for out of conference schedule? Bowling Green, Western Illinois, San Diego State, and Buffalo. ALL patsies.

5. The BCS does suck.

I'm glad there are more people beginning to start saying that there has been something wrong with the way college seasons are. I'm sure there is some logic to how it is all put together, but the only ones who trully know somehow forgot to tell everyone else. The ranking systems are so different from NFL due to the number of teams as you know. The difference is the other considerations involed on how a team is ranked over another is where it becomes a bit more indepth. I trully agree that a more structured system would have a great impact on college ball and have put away kegs worth of beer debating and agreeing with my friends. To tell you the truth: I'm not sure how close I am with my observations, but I can't complain either. This stuff keeps us on our toes. Money drives everything, so it's been told, but if that were the case in the way matchups were scheduled I can imagine it being much worse. Keep drinking and maybe it'll make more sense. It works for me. Go Dallas Cowboys!
