I have a few questions for koЯnut. I leave the SciFi channel on all night and on Tuesdays at 10 PM, they show ECW. I notice the venue changes all the time, they are like a travelling circus. Sometimes, you don't see a wrestler for ages, and a few new ones pop in.

So, how often do they have these performances, must be more than 1 hour per week and in many locations, right?

So many go unbroadcasted, right? They would only show what they think is the best one, right?

How often do these guys get hurt where they can't perform? I know they are in good shape, but still, a lot of it looks like it really has to hurt.

Are steroids a big problem?

Do these wrestlers make salaries comparable to mainstream pro athletes? I understand people like Hulk Hogan made a name for himself commercially also.

Speaking of the Hulkster, he's your favorite, right? You should repost that photo of you with him, taken when you were a kid.

They def have more shows in a week than the one they broadcast on Sci-Fi. Most just are never shown on T.V.

Most of the shows have all three brands in one show (RAW, Smackdown, and ECW), but you never see those shows.

Seems like there are always injuries, but a lot of the guys seem to wrestle anyway. Most of these guy do the show hurt. I think thats why they have such a hard time with pain killer addiction.

I think steroids has been a huge problem and it seems that Vince is trying do get rid of it. I know that for the longest time WWE and WCW was not allowed in Oregon for events because Oregon's steroid policy is very harsh. Both brands refused to take the mandatory drug test needed to get gigs up here.

Now that they test regularly, Oregon is having more shows. The problem now is HGH. Without a blood test, there is no real test for it, and blood test go against the wrestlers rights, just like pro sports.

Vince is also offering therapy and drug addiction help to all past and present performers that need it. I think this is good, but a little late since wrestlers are dieing left and right.

To be honest, I have no idea what these guys make. I'm sure a draw like John Cena or the Undertaker and making easy millions...but I sure the scrubs make significantly less.

Hogan will always be one of my favorite wrestlers since he was a childhood hero. Funny thing is now that I'm older I realize how bad he really was. Great personality, horrible in the ring.

I really like guys like Triple H, CM Punk, Tommy Dreamer, and Randy Orton (yes, Orton...the guy will be the future of the WWE).

Hope that help some. I haven't been getting a chance to really watch much lately. I kinda catch news here and there. Can't believe I even still keep up with this stuff after all these years but I think it's the kid in me. I watch and know it's so ridiculous, but I just still get a kick out of the whole thing. Plus, the women are bad to look at.

thanks for the info on the rasslers. you should put that pic of hulk in you in the latest pic thread in BOTH. One thing I remember about Hulk was, after he took a bit of a beating, he would shake his head back and forth, writhe his body a bit, and come back to an alert state and kick some ass.

I don't remember him as being a poor wrestler, I just remember him as being pretty cool. I used to like Freddie Blase. After his wrestling days were over, he became a manager and still showed up at the ring. I remember some Russian commie bad dudes he looked after and everyone hated them, and him too. That's wrestling, hero one day, villian the next.

Here is one, if it has not been mentioned already:

Eureka (the show on Sci-Fi prior to ECW) had a segment where they showed a Wrestling Clip and it was of TNA.... Anyone find it weird that a TNA clip was shown on a network carrying the WWE brand.

Hey koЯnut, a question or so.... the results are predetermined. How often does a wrestler get hurt where he has to give up instead of win? Or the loser gets pissed off and wins it? There must be a choreographed finish that the competitors know what to do, but....do they get majorly busted if they change the outcome?

Those are all things I have always wondered.

I know i've seen a few matches where a wrestler gets injured and they just stop the match (bring out a stretcher).

As far as a wrestler taking the storyline in his own hands....I don't think anyone would have the balls to do it. They'd be pretty much fired on the spot. Vince did do it once himself to Bret Hart (watch A&E's "Wrestling with Shadows", its one of the best docu's ever) because he knew Hart was going to sign with WCW. But other than that, I don't think it's happened.

I hear a lot of stories about old timers really beating the crap out of the younger, over zealous guys in the ring just to teach them in ring etiquette. Which I think is awesome.

But seriously, if you can DL it, watch Wrestling with Shadows. Whether you like pro-rasslin or not. You will like it.
