Police Called To Tim White's Bar Over Suicide Segment

In what might blow away any past awards for sheer absurdity within wrestling; the aftermath of the sketch on Sunday night's Armageddon PPV, in which a "despondent" Tim White was depicted at his Friendly Tap bar outside of Providence, RI, downing shots and beers (dealing with the pain of his legitimate injuries suffered at a previous Hell In The Cell match) then taking a rifle and off screen, firing the gun, with an implied suicide, resulted in the following...in real-life.

According to the webmaster of the FriendlyTap.com website for Tim White's bar, this skit blew up to the extent that:

1) Local Cumberland, CT police got an estimated 1,000 phone calls about the "suicide" depicted on the PPV.

2) The door of White's Friendly Tap bar was pried off the hinges by local police and fire, causing $3,000 in damages.

3) White himself has to give a deposition regarding the incident to local police, who were upset about not having been clued in ahead of time to the sketch.

4) The e-mail address of the bar recived 4,000 e-mails of condolence and comment.

This reaction may rank up there with the classic September 1, 1990 angle in which Jerry Lawler was run over by an automobile driven by Eddie Gilbert on the live WMC Memphis TV show; causing Memphis police to storm the studio looking for Gilbert.

So I was way off on a couple of my predictions for NYR.

Cena did beat Carlito in the EC only to loose minutes later to Edge who cahsed in the "Money In The Bank". I like Cena and all but it's about time he lost his belt. Edge should loose it right back to him at Royal Rumble next month.

Trish did beat Mickie, and Ashley won the bra and panties match.

Tonight Lita's nipple made an apperance!!! YAYYYY NIPPLE!!!!!!!

How awesome was the TLC match between Edge and Flair. Both took some awesome bumps especially Edge.

Kurt Angle & HBK wasn't as good as previous encounters but was good nonetheless. I'm awaiting to see what Smackdown has to offer.

Ok, I am surprised to see no one posting about the Royal Rumble on here yet...

Anyways, It was quite possibly the worst $35 bucks spent ever. The Rumble sucked balls. I am tired of the WWE always making the first person in the even making it all the way to the end and winning or coming close. It gets a little boring and VERY predictible. And who the hell wants Rey Mysterio to win the Rumble???? That was the biggest pile of bullshit ever, HHH, Masters, Carlito, or Randy Orton would have made a great Main Event at Wrestlemania, but Rey? I am not going to waste my money on Wrestlemania this year with him being the Main Event. (One good thing, it was good to see RVD back).

Also, WTF were they thinking making Angle/Henry the Main Event of the Rumble?!?! That was a very boring match to end it all with, if they weren't going to end it with the Rumble itself, they should have ended it with Cena/Edge. Speaking of Cena/Edge, why the hell give the belt back to Cena???? I really want someone else to get the belt and keep it for a while, and can we please get rid of the spinner belt?

Wrestling the past couple of days has really pissed me off, but I still have the UFC to look forward to this week, which is never really a let down.

I am glad edge lost the belt.. I dont really care for cena either.. but i like him more than edge.. The womens match was horrible.. neither can wrestle.. Boogeyman getting the win with a pumphandle?? uh no. gay.. Mark Henry sucks and should never have main evented..

I did like some of the 6 man tornado match.. Im glad Gregory(shane) Helms won.. I like him. The Rumble itself i enjoyed.. well most of it.. Golddust threw himself out.. that was pathetic.. and what was tatanka doing in there? Im kinda glad Mysterio won.. but I dont think he's the man to main event at wrestlemania.
