As much as I want to, I can't get fired up about this. I'm a dog lover, and the alleged incidents certainly sound cruel and horrible, but nothing has been proven. The media has a vested interest in being as sensational as possible, so I'm taking all of this with a grain or two of salt.

As for Vick as a player, sure, he's a rare athlete, but his game has weaknesses. I can't say I care whether he plays or not, because he doesn't play for my team.

It seems likely that he'll be suspended simply for alleged involvement, which I think is wrong. I believe the line is "innocent until proven guilty." If he is found guilty of something I wholeheartedly believe he should face repercussions. Do I think it should end his career? Definitely not. Players have done much worse and missed less time. He didn't beat his wife, he didn't fire a gun in a public place, he didn't harm any human life, he's not cheating the game of football by using performance enhancing substances or point shaving and gambling. It's not proven as of yet that he actually did anything wrong whatsoever. If it is proven that he broke the law, then he should be suspended according to league policy. If not, then he should be allowed to play.

I think everyone is entitled to due process and I believe in innocent until proven guilty however....

I firmly believe if a crime, or many crimes are committed on your property by accomplices of yours, you should have to take responsibility.

He had to know one way or another what was going on there. Whether directly involved or indirectly.

I'm not saying he is completely without fault. I'm not saying I don't believe he was involved.
BUT, I don't care because:
1. He doesn't play for the Packers.
2. I'm not one of those psychos in PETA.
3. His alleged actions have no bearing on the game of football.

On the actual game on the field? No.
On the League as an enterprise? Yes.
He is at all times, no matter what representing the League and the Falcons and anything he does, doesn't do or allows to happen that relates to him (He is responsible for his property and what goes on there, whether he actually KNEW or not) that has a negative impact on them is a breach of the contract he signed.
Pac-Man Jones was suspended before he was actually indited. The Bears cut Tank just on word that he was pulled over while intoxicated without any notion he would be charged. It's a body protecting it's overall interests (Read: Corporate support and fan base).

He deserves everything he gets. and I hope he doesn't get preferential treatment because he makes millions. I could care less if he is a good quarterback or not I am tired of watching the rich wiggle their way out if trouble and get probation for the same thing that I would spend 2 years in jail for. ON top of that, I own two APBTs and it is hard enough to own one of these dogs without criticism. When he does something like this, it just makes it harder for the true lovers of the breed.

Oh yeah, and as a black man, I hate seeing another black man who does something with himself (even if it is just sports) and blows it because he doesn't have to sense to leave the ignorant ghetto shit alone. Once again he deserves everything he gets.

But, I would agree with most here in saying that I would be surprised if Vick ever puts on an NFL jersey ever again... and if in some strange circumstance he does, I sure as hell hope it's not a jersey from my team.
