I don't think that he is just a kid who wants to play football. If that was the case then he wouldn't care who he is playing for just as long as he gets to play. I think that rookies and draftees shouldn't get a choice as to who they play for coming out of the draft. That privilage should only come to veterans who have been around for a few years. After they have proven themselves in the league.

I attended an SEC school rival of Ole Miss. I've seen Manning play a lot of games. Trust me, he isn't all that he is cracked up to be. The national media goes on and on about how cool under pressure he is. Yeah, he looks that good when you see five highlights on Sportscenter, but trust me he isn't the best. He's good, but he's certainly not great.

For example, his sophomore year he lost to Mississippi State. He had thrown 3 interceptions in the first 9 games that year until the MSU game. All year it looked like teams were scared to blitz him. MSU blitzed him and put him on his back a few times. He threw 3 interceptions and spent a lot of time running from attackers. MSU was horrible that year. They won 3 games. One of those was against Ole Miss.

Last year Memphis did the same thing to Ole Miss. They rattled Eli, and he made a few mistakes that cost them the game. Any time he gets hit hard he will fall apart and start making bad passes. Those NFL defenses are a lot faster than the SEC defenses.

Ben Roethlisberger will be the best QB from this draft. Too many people wrote him off because of his small school, but people (such as myself) who have seen him play almost every college game he's played knows, he's the real deal

One of the ESPN guys during the draft actually said that Eli was all hype. He said he didn't even have him in the top 5 for QB's.

That would have been great if the Chargers kept him and he became Ryan Leaf II.

I disagree. Shottenheimer isn't the problem over in San Diego. They have a whole slew of front office problems. There's no way that a coach can succeed with monkeys running the personnel department and trying to bring in the cash. Although he's not the best coach in the NFL, he also isn't anywhere near the worst. Although I didn't like what the Mannings were doing before the draft, they saw the San Diego organization as being stagnant (think Cincy style) and not going anywhere. However, SD did do a wonderful job sticking it to the Giants and I do think that Rivers will be more productive since there's nowhere near the amount of hype.
