Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton?

I saw something on David Spade's Comedy Central show (the name of it escapes me) where he asked "If it cost you an extra dollar a year on your tax return, would you pay it to keep Paris Hilton in jail?" The result? An overwhelming "Yes".

I think its a shame they will sepereate her from the rest of the population. Let her spend time with a few cranked out getto rats who are looking at serving real time. Then she will find out how important she really is to the normal people of this country!!

She is definetly somebody who is ill suited to spend any amount of time in the hole.. Although its JAIL.. not PRISON..

She'll be in with fairly normal and not so dangerous people.. In prison she wouldn't stand a chance. But who knows.. she's bound to do something stupid again, maybe she'll graduate from the Community College (jail) and do some University (prison) time.

i had seen martha steward about 2 or 3 times in my life before she went to prision, then she was all over the news the whole time she was there + a year after she got out.

hmmm ...

my personal findings about martha stewart are that i did not find a severe increase in the frequency of her actions showing up in my life ... it could be due to the fact that i know where the channel and power switch are on my equipment . selective reading takes care of the printed matter .
the only way that paris (and her cronies) could further abuse her sorry attempts at the use of personal position/influence would be if her peers (read the people) buy into the hype and allow/make it happen .
the "talking heads" in the news services sell/promote by and large what is "popular" ... the "quality" of their product (in part) determines how much they can charge for commercial airtime .


in the matter of "i say forgive her duis ..." .

the judge in this case has already exersized leniency in current matters and taken into account such actions of the past . basically , he has tried the easier , softer way and it has not worked . he is honor bound to uphold/interpret/apply the laws as they apply in each case .
what does her track record thus far really and honestly show ? it shows , by virtue of her own actions , that she has demonstrated a flagrant disrespect for/of basic social/criminal laws and taken advantage of the good nature of others and held others in contempt .
while one could claim that it was "her lawyers" acting on her behalf and many other rationalizations/justifications (ad nauseum infinitum) , the bottom line is that it was/is paris herself that committed the crimes involved or was instrumental in their execution .
so far she has shown a trend toward a "downhill run" . whatever a person does is their own business (by law) unless it affects others (by law) ... killing someone while under the influence is pretty much affecting someone else ... she hasn't done this ... YET .

all the fines , jailtime , boo-hoo pictures in the paper and media hype by and of itself will not change a single thing in her life ... what this boils down to is a moral issue . untill she comes to the point where she is teachable , very little in her life will change .
the judge cannot dictate a persons' morals ... he is simply doing his level best to allow her the dignity to be responsible for her own actions with the hopes that she will realize that true change in a persons character can only come from within .

According to my understanding of this she got a deal with abc to er.. profit from her crime, But she played them against NBC to getter a better deal. This pissed ABC off and they made the details public which led to embarrasment all round and so she ended up on Larry King instead (for no money).

Poetic Justice? I do not know.

oh yea, shes a spoiled little brat and she thinks that her money puts her above everybody else. and im sorry that i believe this to be true, but %90 of the time, thats correct. if i had exactly the same record as her i would probably have gotten an even worse punishment then she did, and i know for GODDAMN SURE that my local sheriff would not have let me out of jail to go home for the night because i couldnt sleep and i was upset about being there. the whole thing is a joke.

plus the news isnt really even the news anymore. most of them have made the shift over to entertainment.
