Why is this even an argument? Weed will always be around, and people will always be for it and against it. Apparently, this many years into being, we have still not learned to just let things go, so this topic will always resurface and fizzle out with awkward flames towards eachother.

Sorry but i have to say that i find this to be the most amusing statement in the whole context of this discussion. Just like the correlation between pot smoking and short term memory loss which has been studied over time.


As for my opinion on it all I don't really have anything else to add since everyone else has pretty much covered what i would say.

veteran pothead <-- =) , well pretty much most if not all have been covered. I'd like to add that about 2 months ago, i read an article about marijuana and this is basically what it said. Back in the early 1930's (and earlier) marijuana was smoked quite frequently, but the Feds decided to ban it for whatever reason. It couldnt be banned unless they had some prove that it was harmful, so instead of researching it, they made a "BOGUS" report saying that it makes the smokers to be/have, get this, "intentions of harming oneself's or others" otherwise "insanity." Based on those few words, marijuana was placed in the same category as narcotics, cocaine, and what is it? i forgot... morphine? something, damn im high right now... LOL Now they {some potheads i guess] are trying to lift the ban on marijuana since so many "undergrounds activities have been active". some focus on medicinal - and this cracks me up - "medicinal purposes were legalized, but with the prescribtions - patients have to search out the substances without being told by doctors where and how to obtain it " LOL!!! but they have 10,000 acres of land reserved by the government to grow weed, and nothing but weed..... PARADISE?!! Congress is faced with many Bills in legalizing marijuana, but they dismiss it without ever looking at it. But there are some who is willing to stick to trying to legalize marijuana [medicinal and etc...- with an example that if there wasan age limit on marijuana - it would be less likely to be bought illegally, just like the age limits on smoking... it goes about saying that if warnings and etc... are put on there... with support of parents, peers and etc.... 1. it stops illegals dope dealers, 2. lower crime rates 3. something something... it goes on and on........ they say that the "war on drugs" have been lost, Congress is too ignorant to acknowledge the fact, and basically live the "if i dont see it, it doesnt exist" kind of life. new studies have show that (well its up there.) i just thought that it was interesting to share.
Currently i am working up a hypothesis " If smoking dro/weed/etc.. numbs the body of pains and at the same time slows down bodily movements, then 'seeking' pain is what makes a person moves." info gathered and other info known - "when given anethesia the body is numb the person cannot move- feeling no pain." - another educated guess- Our body has adapted to the pain, and constantly move, but bc we are so used to the pain, we cannot feel it.
limitations - Pain has to be applied at a certain amount [no more than the threshold]
hmmm there are so much more that i want to do and study, but i recently wanted to study this.... so theres not that much thoughts on this subj. anyways, thats it for my "2 cents" sorry if it's kind of stupid, im high right now... and i think smoking is chilaxing...... so does anyone know about marijuana - i guess i can say i know a little? = )

the new england journal of medicine said last year that it is virtully impossible to over dose on pot you would have to smoke 15,000 pounds in 15 minutes.. one of my friends died from drinking 1 bottle of vodka..... All of these Reganites need to wake up its 2005 you cant keep trying to ban things to make them go away pot is a multiple billion dollar a year industry y not imbrase it??

I smoke at least once a day almost every day. I am not a leach on society. I am not some looser who can't function. I probably pay more taxes than most of you and guess what I spend more money on food in two days than I do pot in a month. How am I hurting anyone other than myself.

I have been educated on the possible harms and I still decide to use. I also smoke cigarettes but I don't drink. I like sodas better than beer and I don't like being drunk. Personal preference.

Now why is my personal preference censored??? That is the basis of this arguement. You can say all you want about potheads and the bad sight effects but I am living proof that you are full of shit.

I am smart, productive, I pay my taxes, and I don't hurt anyone. ANYONE!!! My life is better because of pot. Yours may not be but that is a decission for yourself... not your government!

PS Pot is 100% legal. But the local governments are still using unconstitutional laws and legal loopholes in an atempt to control you. Fight for your right to be your own person... Fuck partying. Just get the government infringement out of my life. Go build better highways, get my mail to me on time, protect me from Binladins and god forbid provide me with health care! Come on we can't even keep up with Canada on this one.

There is an obvious problem with the profit mongering version of Democracy we have right now. Everyone needs to stand up and "just say NO!" But Nancy forgot one thing... We have to ask why as well. Well there are a lot of opinionated people here..

Here are the facts..

1. Fact.. Pot does not have as much cancer causing properties as cigarettes. They are almost the same.. With cigarettes being slightly higher.

2.Fact .. Pot is a DRUG.. Alcohol is a drug.. This is for you people who say you can not compare the two. Each has similar effect (Note i said similar) With slight differences. Did you know You’re a drug user if you.. Drink soda.. Eat chocolate.. etc.. Hypocritical isn’t is now don’t you think?

2a.. Fact.. Alcohol kills more people in a single year then pot EVER has... And which one is legal?? Cough cough.. Aheam moving on..

3.Fact... Both Alcohol and pot both have medical uses..

So to say that you can not compare the two is silly..

Hum.. So what you all are saying is that caffeine should also be made illegal? Caffeine also kills more people then pot... Or how about shellfish? Lets make it illegal just because a few people are allergic to it.. (More people are killed by BEE stings in a year then are killed by pot/and/or its use/production/distribution..

If you really want to know why Pot is illegal.. Think about this. It can be grown by the dumbest person alive and still produce a viable plant.. (<<<Within reason guys )

IF pot was legalized the government would have no control over it.. Distribution/taxation/etc.. That is why it is illegal.

P.S... On a side note.. I do not smoke pot or drink for that matter

i agree that it is ONE of the many gateway drugs, but i dont think it gives you urges to do other drugs, or does it now? ... ?... to smoke pot is already experimenting with "drugs" ...so if you like to experiment, thats your choice... but to say that smoking pot gives you urges to try other drugs (to me) is ridiculous, and also to say that it gives you urges is absurd, - if you dont do drugs in the first place it wouldnt lead you nowhere, so drug free is the way to be! This is my first post on this site so I will be breif.
My first argument is on the harmful effects of smoking. It's no secret that smoking anything is bad for you. It has been said that pot contains more cancer causing chemicals than tobbacco, but it is suspected that because (typically) tobbacco users smoke far more tobbacco than most potheads smoke of weed. There is a way around this problem, a vaporizer (or just eat brownies). These nifty devices don't actually burn the weed, they just vaporize the active chemicals (THC and Cannabinol). So there goes that "con"

Secondly, on drug abuse. How many people in this country are on anti-depressants? There is such a double standard when it comes to drug use in this country. One of the nice things about weed, it is NOT physically addicting (although you could theoretically become mentally addicted to anything pleasurable). Cigarettes kill more people and are BOTH physically and mentally addicting.

Well can't think of much else, ganja's gotta hold of me And for anyone who wants to argue about the above stated facts/opinions (or facpinions if you prefer) then I sugest you chilax and try to keep an open mind. (and remember, the government has, is, and will always lie to the people)

Just thought of something about the "Gateway Drug" propaganda;
When marijuanna was decriminalized in the 70's pot usage did in fact go up (duh) However, use of other "hard" drugs went DOWN... isn't that the opposite effect? Just a thought.
