there was Dodgers vs. Giants game at old Candlestick Park back in 1981. Reggie Smith of LA ended up in the stands and was in a fight with a fan. I don't think anything serious came of it. It was on TV live, but I can't find a video for it. Maybe the story is online somewhere.

Suspensions are all that get handed out to guys that perform on the field/court whatever.

The league is in it to make money - you're not going to tell the guys that sell tickets and merchandise that they just can't play in your league anymore.

It would be like banning Tiger Woods permanently from golf if he were caught doing something inappropriate off the course...sure you've made your point that "we won't allow that kind of behavior here" but in doing so you've seriously undercut your own business and profits. Not gonna happen, not in these here United States anyway.

Sure would like to see Vick go to the Raiders...I don't think Garcia'a gonna do it for us.
