You know what would be good is to allow players to choose how many turns they want to spend on their army growth. The times ive had 100 turns and wanted to spend them all on army size upgrades its kinda boring to press the thing 100 times.

Or is there some cool short way to do it that i have missed ?

Run like girls? LOL...right!!! Hey we've been waiting for you guys to man up and get up to a level we can fight you at, but you haven't had the stones to get up there.

Don't blame us because you guys were unclear on the object of the game.

FYI it is troop dominance (measured in quantity of troops) if you hadn't picked up on that

If you want to dick around at the 1,000-5,000 troop level, then more power to you, but don't expect to win the game with those meager aspirations.

Yes, the object of the game is to have more troops than anyone else, congrats, doesn't mean what i said, was wrong..
I've not expected to win, since day 3 of this (ahem) war, which was when your team headed for the hills.

As for us getting up to a level where you're able to fight us? your team has done little else but increase your troop levels, we increase ours, you increase yours.. at what point were you waiting for us to catch up??

Your team never had any intention of sticking around to fight anyone, your income bonus gives your team the required edge to get ahead, and because you were the first team to stop fighting, you win.

Personaly, i think it'd make for a much fairer, and interesting game, if all natural bonuses were removed, and battles won, became the objective.

now, as far as us 'running for the hills', as you perceive...let me explain

All we did, and I think michaeljohn mentioned earlier in the thread, was to bank and expend our turns and our gold in a measured fashion, building our armies strategically to offset the other nations' tactical advantages while growing troops to hold at predetermined levels as a team in order to block opposition.

That's why maybe to you it looked like we were running away, but if you looked closely you'd have noticed most of us held between 20k and 50k for a week and a half or more.

That was so we could build up our own defenses and hold position while you guys (in our minds anyway) would have built up your offenses and troop numbers to attack at that level.

But you didn't do that, so that didn't happen, and after we've built as much as we can at the troop levels we're at, there's nothing we can do but to grow troops or lose our turns.

There are other forums that run this conquest mod and while they don't reset as often as we do, it isn't uncommon to see armies of over 1,000,000 each going toe-to-toe with each other. Me, I would love to see something like that here, but it seems we can't get any decent conflicts with armies over 10k

Well, I use Internet Explorer and it allows me to click it at least 5 times before it acts, then all 5 troop increases happen at once.

We have held a floor of 27K for days now. The villages above that are strategically placed for reasons in our strategy. I will reveal it later, including what we had planned when we were all sitting there with 3K to 5K in troops. Waldo and Patito decided to run troops, the latter already clinched gold for most troops, and was bored. The rest of us await you guys to engage us.

As explained above we are prepared to fight. I wanted everyone to hold at 5K in troops and build from there, but the team elected to go higher. More of them than of me so that's what happened, We are a team and voted as such. Be thankful you have breathing room to do more things.

Our income bonus only beats your defensive bonus because we have higher troops. If troops are the same, Offensive purchase by Jews = Defensive purchases by the English.

Let's review what happened.

Day 1 and 2: English clicked the troops button more.
Day 3: Jews used stored turns and a few attacks to get English to buy defense instead of clicking troops button.
Day 4 on: Jews kept clicking troops button, English kept buying defense.

Remember, I only converted turns at the 400 troop level, 3 sets of 10 at the 2000, and maybe 6 or 7 at the 4000 level. I kept turns in the bank and used them when they meant the most. The English were buying defense all the way up from 100 troops, and at regular intervals. That's why I was able to run the whole English army down to the 1000 troop level, with CD thrown in for good measure.

I dont think anyone is getting butthurt about this game or this thread. Also i think we have allready accepted that you are the best players, i think that was implied last game as well. That is why i though we would change teams this time, you decided to stick together and much like last time but even faster due to the fact that there was only 2 teams this time you dominated the game to the point where there is not much to do.

This is not me saying why did you take advantage of your knowledge over the game (if had some fancy strategy i would have allready shared it with my team mates, obviously i dont). This is me saying, how bout next round we even things up a bit and have at least the 3 teams with an even number of "regular" players, and of cors if the strongest players dont play together again i think that would help to make things more fun, more even at least.

I mentioned earlier we set up a strategy based upon two old British battles. From 1879, Battle of Isandlwana and the Battle of Rorke's Drift in the Anglo-Zulu War.

The Zulu, armed with only spears and cowhide shields, sent 10,000 men at the battle of Isandlwana and overran the Brits who kept running out of ammunition. This was done with the tactic of the head of the bull. Head attacks, Horns surround then attack as well.

One of the horns of the bull attacked Rorke's Drift the next day. The Brits held on and defended.

From the movie Zulu, telling the story of the Battle of Rorke's Drift, note the 3:24 mark when the bugler sounds his horn and the Brits get into skirmish line formation. Volley fire by rank stops the Zulus cold, they didn't run out of ammo.



This was our plan about 2 weeks ago, approximations:
Waldo 6400 troops
Ryan 5000 Troops
Backdoor Jesus 5000 Troops
Patito 5000 Troops
michaeljohn 4000 Troops
Bipolar 3500 troops.

Bipolar was going to move up to 5K and I was going to hold the line at 4K, daring everyone to come in range. He first stopped and took CD (2900 troops) and lissof (3000 troops) out of the picture.

What we expected was every Brit to line up just out of my range at 3000 troops, save turns, and then run to 4800 troops and build some defense and sit. If CD was allowed to join this party, he would be attacking everyone!

Now, we then have to chase you guys out, all of you. Anibal, watzizname, Graffin, licupssy, lissof, and anyone else you can convince to join you. If we can't chase you all out, you run higher and get even stronger on defense.

so, like the British, we were lined up with plenty of turns (ammo, no shortage like in Isandlwana) and ready to do battle. Again, see the video above.

the Brits had no organized strategy. licupssy ran up all by himself while watzizname was still down at 1100 troops. BDJ hit him, and I followed, dropping him down. I was holding a new line at 3000 troops and a few turns from running up when Anibal attacked me and put me in everyone's range again, so I started attacking everyone below me. I had a new floor 1600 troops when watzizname got in my range and let me keep attacking.

We have the same strategy set up for the last days of this game, but the Brits aren't coming (yet). Only watzizname and Anibal are building, and watz is building well below where he could be. He'd be a lot stronger if he did it at 20K.

oh and i am back from vacation.... kinda relaxing in the mountains but no cell service for the better part of the week. so not inet unless out and about.... was in an accident..$6100 worth of damage to my vehicle.... but everyone is ok.. good thing i had another vehicle with us. took over 24 hours for the insurance company to call back about a rental, not to mention the small ass town we were in only had one rental place(enterprise) and they were out of cars. in a couple weeks i get to drive back there(500 miles each way) to get my truck back.
