John Irving's "A Prayer For Owen Meany" (i'm halfway through "The World According To Garp" but dont seem to like it as much so far). Richard Dawkins' "The Selfish Gene" <-- makes me feel worthless and powerless Tolkien's LoTR and The Hobbit Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" Richard Feynman's memoir, "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" Two Indonesian books: "Parasit Lajang" by Ayu Utami, a bunch of brilliant essays about living as a successfull yet unmarried woman in Indonesia "Supernova" by Dee hope i'm not forgetting anything... |

Other than that.. Fantasy: The first Xanth trilogy by Piers Anthony Horror: The Stand Realistic Fiction: Shogun, and as stated, The Walking Drum Humor: Hitchhikers Guide Sci-Fi: Ender's Game, The sequels, and the following novels about Bean. I am constantly reading. I read at least 4 books a week, and would read more if i had access to more books. So this list is subject to change.

fuck... i just posted... and rememberd another 1.. i advise any1 to read it.. its called the bad guys won!.... its about the hmm 1985 NY mets i believe.. (not exactly sure of the year) and its like talkin bout darryl strawberry an his drug usage an shit an like i dunno how basically they were all druggies and shit an they partied and got thrown in jail the night before a game an shit also like all the gambling or drunkeness on the air planes (it talks bout how darryl strawberry i guess pulled out his penis and was trying to get the uhm flight attendant lady to suck on it and stuff) they were really bad guys just horrible people fighting all the time an shit... they had i think 4 bench clearing brawls in 1 season... also it says how 1 guy would slide to the bases on his stomache.. cause he had a bag of coke in his back pocket which he didnt want to puncture... i know it looks like i gave away the story... but believe me there is much more to learn bout these assholes and its very interesting.. i actually looked forward to then upcoming chapters when i was getting into it... and im not a reader... so i suggest any1 who likes sports or hmm that kinda of book? to go and take a look at it Edit: i said an shit alot... that had to get annoying.. sorry its late here and im tired so my mind is blocked lol... so thats all |

My favorite book would be Cold in July by Joe R. Lansdale. It's a heckuva read full of violence, supsense, and humor. Check his works out.

I can't limit myself to one. I'm a writer, and there are just too many books important to me from the very distant past right up to today. If I could, I might offer two recomendations as examples of what great books can be: for fiction, you might try Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried" for poetry, you might try Jack Gilbert's "Monilithos"

I like to read Epictetus, such wisdom. As far as fiction goes, I really liked Jumper by Steven Gould, but my favourite is Kingdom of Cages by Sarah Zettel.
