I know there are quite a few metal fans on WR, but I never see many down here. Lets do some sharing and find something new. I listen to a lot of death and thrash. I also like some black, nu, metalcore and power. I've been through quite a bit of music lately, and am looking for something that I might not have heard yet. Anyone have any recommendations?

I am mostly classic, and the only heavy stuff I listen to is either older Metallica, Megadeath and bands like that.

I'm more of the classic metal; I really haven't listened to any metal since the early 1990's. Is any of the recent stuff worth it?

Alright, I found my niche! Tell me what you know of these. alot of sweedish melodic/ prog, early 2000 hard rock, and killswitch types. That's what I'm into right now, but give me your influences and I bet you I can cater.

I have heard of Symphony X (King of Terrors).


EDIT - Ok, so I have visited Project Playlist and checkin out these bands.
I do like Symphony X

Iced Earth has some great bands music, I just have to adjust tot he singing.
Death is the same way.

Mastodon - pretty good
Symphony X - need to hear again
Arch Enemy - love the thrash sound
Death - overrated
Iced Earth - haven't heard enough
Cinder - never heard of
Stereomud - never heard of
Meshuggah - good
Non Point - heard of, but I don't know if I've heard
Killswitch Engage - gets old
Shadows Fall - gets old
Children of bodom - gets old
Holotype - never heard of
Savage Circus - never heard of
Scar Symmetry - don't remember

I think I'll go through and give a second listen to all of these. Definitely a good list to start with.

Scar symmetry- I'm pretty new to them too but "The Illusionist" and "Morphogenesis" are pretty good.- myspace?
