i wasn't sure where to post this.....

but i have been receiving a bunch of spam... some of the spam... is the sort of stuff that asks you to fill out some personal info and pay XXX amount of money. by subscribing you get info on surveys.

according to the websites filling out those surveys can earn you 10-100 dollars... a day.. or whatever amount they post.

i'm just curious... has anybody actually tried any of these ?
are any of them actually legit?

i find it hard to believe.... first that these places would payout any cash and secondly that anybody would actually fall for it!!!

but then again.... i am so curious that i actually thought about signing up to one of these places!!! BUT I my common sense tells me NOT TO DO IT!!!

anybody fallen victim??? or maybe... is it TRUE???

I've tried a couple of them.
www.partnership-plus.com asks questions on clothing purchases. Earn points to earn money and items
www.mysurvey.com Surveys on various topics. Earn points for money, items, and raffles
Harris poll-not sure of the address, Surveys on various topics. Earn points for various items.
www.greenfield.com various topics, not as good as the other three

All four are legit, I've used for a couple of years now. They've sent cash or items as requested based on my point totals. The first three are the best. The last one offers 1 or 2 dollars per survey, but only if you qualify.

I answer Greenfield and Harris. I don't think you could make a living doing it. I don't qualify for a lot of them, and they never tell you why. I've never hit one of their $$ drawings, either.

I've heard a few were scams, but with no first-hand experience and being pretty much a money pussy, I can't really tell you much more, anyway.

I got into Pinecone Research and participated for about a year. They paid $5 per survey and I got about 2-3 a month. Obviously it didn't pay the bills, but it was a decent deposit after I saved up a few months worth. They also sent out product samples for further evaluation, mostly food/beverage industry items.

There are many legitamite market research companies that will pay you to participate in online surveys. But never ever pay to join surveys. The only thing these pay to join sites do is list a bunch of free to join sites. You don't need to pay to get access to this information. There are many free sites that list all this info for free. For example Survey-Networks.com (http://www.survey-networks.com) lists descriptions to over 400 online research companies. It has the largest database of all the free websites. Good Luck.

yeah most of this suck unless you are a disabled minority making less that 15 grand a year.... I joined this site for like $20 and they said they would hook me up wiht all this stuff, wow I was the sucker, i get a few offers every now and then but nothing that really pays, the best paying ones are like $5 and you hvae to wait a few months to get your cash , don't waste your time on these. You could be doing something more productive and making more money.

Go to craigslist.org and type in focus groups in the search box, I mean you can't do focus groups from home, but they send you to a place where you can try out new stuff like games, computer programs, food, beer, all types of shit and for like 2 hours of focus group you can get paid 75-500 just for your opinon.

Most online surveys require you to pay them to get paid. Usually after paying you do not qualify to participate in many of the surveys!!! :>(

I do a couple of them and they are often fun but sometimes boring. I too have not qualified for some but most of them I do. I did win $100.00 one time in a drawing and they sent it out in just a few days after I won. The check cleared with no problem. You can't make a lot of money off of them but that was a hundred bucks that I didn't have before.

I agree with this about the focus groups...I somehow got on a list for one and I got a postcard to do one at my local Best Buy. All I had to do was look through their pc gaming section and answer like 30-40 or so questions about it. Then there was a short group interview for like 10 minutes asking us how they could improve things and get more people to buy their games from them. Well it was easy and they even took some of our advice...such as having more play test areas with more games so people can see them in all their glory, and selling used games (though they also buy used games too). I think this one is the first one testing it out and if it works out well they will do it at more stores.

Anyway, for about 30 minutes of my time I got $150 check :). Which mostly ended up being spent at my next visit to Best Buy lol.

I have done many online survey type ones as well and there are many decent and legit ones out there. Many of are lame but some do work pretty nicely.

A couple that I can remember that have paid me in the past are:

greenfield
zoompanel (though they either pay you with points that you can cash in or you are entered into a drawing)

And others mentioned are decent, such as surveyspot.com and surverynetworks.com

Only thing is almost all of the surveys are boring and can be long with silly question after silly question. Even surveys on things you are actually interested can become very boring very fast lol.

Another whole area to make money online is "paid to surf" though there are a lot of bs sites in that area as well. Many are very easy and you can do it while you are watching tv or something. Others require you to click a link every 15 seconds to make sure you are looking at the sites that advertisers are paying you to look at.

Then there are some that pay you to "auto surf" where you basicly start it up and it rotates between websites every 10-30 seconds or so. One that I have been doing for months and love so far is called studio traffic and you are paid 1% of your account level every day that you surf. You start off with a $10 account level so every day you surf you make $.10, which isnt much at all lol. But it is free. But what is cool is you can upgrade your account with cash and whatever you account level is you make %1 a day. So for example, my account level is $980 and I make $9.80 every day that I surf, or almost $300 a month! It's very easy and you don't have to deposit money to earn money but it just makes it faster ;). I have another $800 pending that will upgrade my account to about $1700 on the 1st of August so I will then be making $17 a day or $510 a month if I surf every day.

There are a few things about it that you do need to know...such as, the money you "deposit" or upgrade with isn't a real deposit so you don't get to withdraw that amount. You would basicly be "buying" an upgraded account level which you can then use to earn money off. So in reality you are investing money that will take about 3 months to earn back. Since you are payed 1% daily, it would take 100 days of surfing to make the money back that you upgraded with. That upgrade also expired after 12 months. So basicly you would need to surf 100 days to see your initial deposit but then every month after that for the next 9 or so is pure profit at that higher account level. And of course all that money you make for each of those first 3 months can be reinvested to upgrade you account even more so you make it back even faster and are into profits faster. So far it is working out very well for me and I am making a ton of free money now :).

It's kind of hard to explain but it works and it has been working for a couple years now and growing like crazy and it is worldwide. They also have a ton of other services and companies which help fund this one so it has a good future too.

Anyway, if you want to try it out, here is my link (you will also get a free $10 account just to sign up):

http://www.studiotraffic.com/index.php?refid=112209

After you sign up, be sure to go look in the forums and look for the "I've been paid" forum to see TONS of people who are always posting proof photos of their checks and such. I was definitely skeptical when I first heard about this but after signing up and checking it out and doing a bit of research in their forums and using google I definitely "see the light" lol.

surveyspot and npdor are definitely not scams, but i'd say $5-$10 a month is the most you can expect to make, but they really do pay. i've received cash payments of as little as $2 in the mail, but gotten the occasional $20 check as well. i spend it on beer, so any amount is nice to receive.
