Your thoughts please. Was Jones victimized by a lucky punch, or have his skills diminished to the point where he should retire?

I think Tarver got lucky, but don't think jones will fight much longer. He's been talking of retiring for a while now, and the fight deffinetly hurt his image. I say he fights one or two more fights, and would love to see his last fight as tarver 3...

people still watch boxing? i though Don King would have degraded that sport to the level of the WWF by now.

Boxing isn't nearly as entertaining as the WWF... :happycow:

I think Tarver really got lucky, but as dus10 said I don't think he'll fight much longer either.

It was a combination of both a good shot from Tarver and Jones being at the end of his career.

Watched the replay on HBO lastnight was a good clean shot by Tarver but I still think it was lucky and yah I doubt Roy will be fighting much longer. He spoke to Larry Merchant about wanting to fight heavywieghts. My question is who? Klitzcho WTF ever if Tarver knocked him out either one of the Klistchko brother would murder him.

Lucky punch. Tarver is good but I think Jones is bored. He has done just about everything and there really isn't much left to prove if anything. Jones is the better figher IMO and will proove it in the rematch. That is if Jones doesn't just retire before that happens.

Supposedly jones wants either Klitzcho or Tyson if he goes back up to heavyweight..
I agree with bhplv1 about jones being bored.. has been boxing since he was very young, and before Tarver noone else really stood toe to toe with him.

I am going to try to tivo the replay tomorrow night, but from what I've heard I doubt that RJ will have many more fights... maybe two more... a warmup and then a big payday possibly Tyson since his antics always attract big money.

Luck. Tarver wasn't even looking; He threw a haymaker and it landed.
