First, I really hope it's okay putting this thread here since it's also a bit of a request, I figure it's most approperate in the Food Section.

Okay, So I'm a poor college kid just scaping by. Needless to say, we don't eat well. A good meal is a rareity away at college, but we've adapted. Instead of steak, fish, or chicken dinners, we eat Ramen, Easy Mac, and Canned goods.

Now, after going through 2 cases of Top Ramen and 5 boxes of Easy Mac, the same old stuff gets old fast. The problem is that I don't know of anything else that is easy, quick, and cheep to make.

If any of you have any recipies that are quick, cheep and easy, please post em.

They need to be able to be cooked in the microwave (no oven, stove top), and I am able to go to the grocery store on occaision, but it's not often, so it shouldn't involve a lot of easily parishable items (meats, fish, eggs, etc..).
----------------

So far, I've taken Chef Boyardee (Sp?) lasagna with ground beef (from a can) put it in a bowl covered it with bread crumbs (left a piece of bread out overnight and crushed it) and dry motizeralla cheese (stuff you put on spagetti) on top. Microwaved it, Inside got hot, top stayed crispy, and the cheese was melty.

----------------

If you guys have anything else that you think might suit the poor college kid, go ahead and post em!

THANKS, and good eatin'!

I always liked cooking ramen without the seasoning, then draining the water and pouring tomato sauce over it. Kind of like a ghetto spaghetti. I've also heard that you can cook the beef kind and then drain the sauce off and put tomato sauce on it and it's like spaghetti and meatballs.

if you have a iron, you can make grilled cheese sandwiches by putting the bread in a brown paper bag. the iron the outside, its ghetto. but it works

ughword I like the chicken kind with spaghetti sauce... tasty, tasty stuff.

I've found tortilla shells are magical too... they're reasonably cheap and you can put damn near anything in them... cheese for quesadillas, fried with sugar and cinnamon, etc...
