Just noticed the new forum... thanks to whoever suggested it.
I've recently become interested in cooking, and am trying to work up a basic repertroire (sp?). Anybody got any suggestions for good basic cookbooks, or, even better, recipes/sites?
Thanks a ton!

Hmm...
Better Homes & Gardens has one out that is pretty comprehensive. Any good kitchen store should have many choices, but for the basic ones I'd head for Wal-Mart or similar stores.

What type of cooking are you looking to do? I'm in south Louisiana and I do alot of cooking. If cajun food is what you're looking for, then this is a real good cookbook to start with. It's real popular down here. Good luck!

I lean more towards American, Italian, French and Japanese (well, I like sushi, if that really counts) cuisine. But thanks for the help, Bozak.
