Where did you hear XP will not be supported? From some idiot working at Best Buy who is trying to sell you a computer? According to Microsoft XP will be supported until 4/08/2014.

I agree with the previous poster, unless you have a machine that will support Windows 7, don't upgrade.
But, if you buy a new computer, yes, get Windows 7 on it. It rocks. I'm loving it.

I second the Windows 7 love. Have it on both my laptop and desktop now and it kicks ass.
But I can't imagine running it on a slower computer, so be careful there.

I went from XP to 7, the wife went from XP to Vista, and now has 7. Both are7 Ultimate. But i so agree with the above posts, best to make sure your computer can handle it. I have the OEM and two licenses for both computers. One drawback, the older video codecs will not work with Windows 7 so you may have to find a separate video player for other than the standard avi's or wmv, etc. I do have a 3rd computer with XP, but only because I like the microscope and telelscope that work so well with it.

I was told Vista was more trouble than its worth. Maybe just some soft ware though. But apparently, just upgrade straight to 7
