I'm planning to start a new hobby with my friends, with paintball. Any one have a good opinion on markers/guns?

I already looked a few, Tippman 98 custom, Armotech Mars Evo, and the Spyder Fenix. Opinions?

Tippman 98 are good markers for starters. If you get the flatline barrel attached to the tippman you have a very accurate marker. I personally use a autococker. WDP Angel is another good marker. Also you need to figure out if you are using CO2 or nitro. CO2 is good for starters but if you are going to be long term in this hobby you might consider nitro.

flatline barrel is nothing but a crappy gimmick. one broken paintball, and you can't hit anything for the rest of the day. get a simple marker to start out, and progress. the tippman is a great starter gun. co2 is great for beginners. pay for good paint. it's worth the extra cost. learn how to clean your marker, and clean it often.

i used to play a lot, but i haven't played for 2 years. i have an autococker and several spyder markers. the best advice i can give is go to a paintball shop, and hold a few markers. see what feels comfortable.

So, I guess I'll go for the Tippman, is there any way to upgrade it's performance, other than the flatline barrel?
