I come from what was a very small family many year ago.
My ancestors came here from Scotland in the 1600's.
As least one person in the family served with Washington at Valley Forge.
Relatives known to fight on both sides of the Civil War.
There probably isn't a war the US has been in that a relative of some sort hasn't fought or died in including Iraq.

After 38 years of marriage, I still can't understand half of what my wife says in English and she's got papers with a photo and everything making her an American for the last 35 years.

Conceived in Norfolk, born in Philadelphia, I understand Will Smith and most Rednecks.

WTF ~ the government should at least pay for a translator so I could know more of what my wife says.

Maybe not, I'm going deaf and can always say I couldn't hear when she's bitchin' about something. LOL

Seriously though, lissof, there are plenty of english speakers in mexico, its the official secondary language. Anyone with a decent education over there (out of high school) took at least 4 years of english.
