Everyone reads or hears stories about some vicious pit bull mauling someone. I'll bet worrying about an owners family member never crossed the mind of this pit bull. Check out the story:

Woman says mentally ill son killed pet dog

Police believe a mentally ill man stabbed a pit bull to death at an Augusta home Friday.

Richmond County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Milledgeville Road at 1:24 p.m. about a case of animal cruelty, according to a sheriff's report.

A woman said her son went to visit an elderly female in the park and made sexual comments to her. When the mother questioned her son about the incident, he became angry and went to the bathroom, where he began to stab their pit bull, she said.

The woman found her pet bloodied and dead, according to the report. Augusta Animal Services was contacted and took possession of the dog.

The woman said her son has a mental illness and was off his medication.

The man was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital for emergency admission.

My cat owns a pit bull in the neighborhood. When its owner takes it for a walk, unleashed, if my cat is outside, he charges it swinging his right paw, bitch slaps it, and the pit bull runs for the hills.

Cats can do well on their own, even with large dogs. Corralling a pissed off cat would be a nightmare. I think that's why we don't farm and eat cats.

BBQing dogs is pleasing for the Koreans. Possibly more so for the famine stricken North Koreans. Personally, I prefer my dog to retrieve my meal.....
