With the possible exception of a couple noisy DA's in LA Co. looking for some press time, most of the LEO's in CA are starting to come around to the fact that a majority of the people in this state don't consider pot a dangerous drug...we look to heroin, meth and coke in that regard, and are beginning to insist our LEO's start enforcing the laws regarding those substances and not the ones that we voted to leave alone.
A full legalization initiative for regulated public and recreational use is going on the ballot for 2010 and it has very promising chances of passing - our cash strapped state gov't is licking it's chops with the thoughts of revenue generation from the regulated taxation on our humble herb.
And I have not had a drop of Jameson since May, about a month after I got my mmj rec. A couple beers while watching a game, sure, occasionally, but your boy has not been shitfaced hammered in months, and I used to be that way at least four nights a week. Could this be considered an unexpected positive effect of mmj? :dunno:

The way I figure, cannabis is fruit. It has seeds, therefore, its a fruit.
In addition to the jesuses' claims of not drinking anymore, I would like to add that I too have been off of the alkhy for a while. It was not uncommon for me to have sat down and polised off a 30 pack in one party/event. No, I am not exagerating. I drank HARD. Weeknight? Yeah, 6 pack before bed. So then I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and perscribed a diuretic. One of the warning labels on the meds was to avoid alcohol (FAIL!). So now that I am drinking a beer or two MAX a week, and even then I really don't drink unless something is going on, I have lost all sorts of weight and the marijuana, although it does not substitute one drug for another) keeps me mildly sedated (haha mildly?) which is a good thing for people with high BP and it also keeps me from craving getting totally shit faced. Also lost a shit ton of weight from less water retention and less drinking and downright eating better. I love smoothies right now! I shit berries!

I have also cut out drinking almost completely.
I'm not going to turn down a beer when a friend hands me one, and I'll have an occasional drink here or there, but I haven't had more than 3 drinks in a sitting in a LONG time.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
Weed > Alcohol in almost every way
(almost... weed doesn't make chicks sleep with you)

back in LA after a week in messiko. I had some MMJ down there with me that lasted like a day. Stocked up on the local harvest from this season...those beaners are getting better with the brick packed shit. I actually saw some green in it lol

I actually have prescriptions for migraine medicines (have been having migraines for years) so I wouldn't have to sweat getting a card- I actually have one of the conditions that cannabis is prescribed for.
Now that I work in Irvine (I'm on Alton between Irvine Blvd and Barranca) I could easily shoot over to Lake Forest and it's 10 locations after work.
Hmmm... tempting...
