Favourite/best PC FPS

Hi all, I'm interested to know people's opinions on the best PC FPS or their favourite. Any & all discussion is welcome!

Mine:

Half-Life 2
especially "Follow Freeman!" segment
reasons: superb mix of story, characters and action, including several "mini-battles" (e.g. Nexus battle, Striders at Citadel Wall) that are highly replayable

HL2 without a doubt. I just can't wait for some of those mods.

The Quake series above all others, with Quake II sitting at the top of the mountain. That game was just hands down the best gaming experience i've ever had. The cream of the FPS crop come damn close, but don't have that little something that makes QII magic.
