this is soooooo worth the effort. try it.
cook up a bunch of bacon and save the grease/drippings, whatever you call it. thing is, you need about 1 1/4 ounces of bacon fat.
on low heat, melt bacon fat (if you have it saved in a jar next to your stove like a southern grandma and it's solid) and stir til liquid, and cook about 3- 4 more minutes.
pour a 750 ml bottle of Four Roses bourbon (any bourbon works, i like Four Roses) into a container, then add the bacon fat right into the bourbon, stir and cover.
let it stand for 4 hours.
then put it in the freezer for 2 hours (so the fat solidifies)
scoop the fat off the top, strain it twice through a cheese cloth back into the bottle.
you now have bacon flavored bourbon. yum!
the cocktail:
2 oz of bacon bourbon, 1/4 oz maple syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, all in a shaker with ice.
shake that up, strain into a glass with ice.
get fucked up on tasty cocktail.
great for breakfast!
