Disneyland is always a required stop when you visit our neck of the woods - not too bad of a drive from san berdoo.

It may be a little bit of a cruise for you, but the San Diego wild animal park is one of the best in the world - my kids love it!

if you PM me where you are going to be staying I could map it out for you - or you could do it yourself at some place like mapquest.com
BR just wants a hookup!
San Diego Zoo is supposed to be the best in the US. Next are Brooklyn (I think), and San Antonio.

:wiggle: and that's a good thing my friend!
I live in San Bernardino (actually Loma Linda, but they are right next to each other)
Because of the high amount of rain this year, the mountains are going to still have snow on them when you come. Plan a day to snowboard/ski if you can. If nothing else, go up there and enjoy the view.
I can give a list of nice restaurants in the area if you'd like.
Palm Springs is around an hour away from San B., and it's got all the touristy stuff.
Hollywood / Rodeo Drive / Walk of fame.... you have to do all of that.
If you tell me what weekend you'll be here, I can find out what's going on locally. The biggest club in San B. is a country western bar... not my thing, but if you're into that, then it may be a place for you to go.
There's lots of local bands that play shows in the area too (like MY band) :) If I know the dates, I can direct you to a show or two if you like that sort of thing.
By march, the beach is warm enough to visit usually. I recommend Huntington or Newport because it's probably the shortest drive from San Bernardino, and you don't have to drive through LA. I can divulge my secrets on the best ways to drive there and where to go if you're interested.
So... yeah. There you go :)

Nice, thanks for the input. I'll be in Cali for the last 2 weeks of March..and a big no to the skiing snowboarding thing, I already live with 6 months of snow a year here.. :eek3:
Yeah I need some advice on bars/clubs for sure cause sorry Im not really into Country and Western, but hey if that's all that;s there then I'll go
So yeah give me more details on that area, my mother works in Linda Loma, so I for sure will be there..
What kind of band are you in ?
He's in a polka band.

I'm really into R&B, reggae, some hip hop, slow jams...
I won't have access to a car, even I did I don't have a license...So does that mean I'm stuck at the Country/Western bar??
You can always got to the polka pub!

Stay out of the ghetto in San Bern...they get pretty rowdy. Be prepared for traffic, any day, any time. Lots to do here, just depends on your budget and ammount of time.

Well I'm going to have lots of time since most of the time my mother will be with my daughter whom she hasen't seen in 8 months, so Im free..Thank god..
I don't really mind Traffic, I'm used to it here, and where is the san bern ghetto?

Anywhere close to the 215 that is the actual City of SB. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

Ahh ok..lol I doubt I'll be around there much..
Mind you I wouldn't mind seeing a real American Ghetto, Canadian ghettos are quite laughable..
You say that, until you see one!
Go to the Polka Pub!

"drive by" has a totally different meaning here. If you are used to gun fire, random street violence, and niggers asking you for change for their crack habits, then go for it.
Sorry for the delay... I'm pretty damn lazy...
here's a few places to hit up... hope you're 21, or my list will suck
1) Liam's Irish Pub - Colton, CA Kickass place, and it's only like 10 mins from San Bernardino (where in San B. are you going to be? it's a really big city)
http://www.liamsirishpub.us/www/
2) Brandin' Iron - San Bernardino It's a Country western bar, and I avoid it like the plague. They DO have college night on wed. nights, and they play club music.
http://www.brandinironsaloon.com/
3) Royal Falconer - Redlands, CA Around 10-15 minutes away. The falconer is a british pub, and the owner is this cool british dude who always comes out and drinks with the customers. There's good food during dinner hours, and the place gets PACKED at night. Pool tables and stuff, too.
http://www.redlandsweb.com/directory/restaurants/review005.htm
4) There are a plethora of bars and stuff all around the area, because there are three major universities within 20 minutes of each other (Cal State San Bernardino, Univ. of Redlands, and UC Riverside). If you can find a way to get near UCR, for example, there are like 20 bars to choose from. As a graduate of UCR, I know the entire area really well, and I can tell you where the best place to party is on any given day (margarita mondays, taco tuesdays, college nights on wednesday, etc).

Nice, Thanks for the list, Im going to be in the Rancho Cucamonga?! area...
And I'm 25 so its all good, is there public transport around there cause I will be without a car unless my mommy wants to come partying with me...Im going solo
Rancho is actually pretty far from San Bernardino... that's a good 20-30 minute drive.
You'll probably want to stay out in that area (much less ghetto). Can you do a mapquest of the address you'll be at, and then tell me a major intersection nearby? I can tell you stuff over in that area if you do. (PM me if you don't want it to be public, although a cross-street is hardly stalker material) :)
Special-Kay..... I was kidding about the polka.... who likes polka?

Ur gonna definitely need a car while ur here. Public transportation in San Bern is worse than in LA and DAMNED if I take it any more than I need to. I bus it to work every now and then and that's cuz its one bus, its the express, and I get up early enough not to deal with the ghetto people that ride it when it gets later.

what about taxi services? Many of those around?
yeah you can get a taxi... you have to call up and order them (they don't just drive up and down the streets nonstop)
did you get a mapquest and nearest intersection yet of where you're gonig to be?
edit: I'm retarded... ignore me while I look up foothill and arrow route... My band has played over there a few times

Yah, juan's right...public transportation is pretty crappy out here, and if you try taking a cab you will go broke because the cabs charge on distance, and everything here is pretty spread out and connected by freeways.
You can rent a car for a pretty reasonable rate though and that will be your best bet for getting around here, provided you can't borrow your mom's car.
BTW, Enterprise is a pretty OK/reasonable rental company that has decent weekly and/or weekend rates & they will deliver the car to you rather than your needing to go to their offices to get it. But also look for rates on Orbitz or Expedia to see how low you can go
here's a good bar:

They have live bands and stuff all the time, and I've played there quite a few times.

It's a little ways from where you are staying, but if you can get there you have to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Every time I go to Bakersfield I make a trip to Six Flags. It's the SHIT!
