problem with remote control

i recently just purchased a new tv. i have a dish 500 system with the blue button remote. i programmed the remote to control the tv functions on our old tv and everything worked fine. when we got the new tv in, i tried programming the remote for the new tv and everything worked except the volume control. i can move the volume up, but it wont go down. i have to use the stock tv remote to lower the volume. do i need to buy a new remote? i just dont understand why it worked on the old tv perfectly but not on a new tv.

did u checked the codes for that particular brand? there is usually more than 2... some do not control all the functions on a particular model... try all the codes first..

Also try the scanning of all the codes... not just for your TV brand. I ran into that with my stereo. It's a JVC and I ended up using some oddball brands code (not JVC) to be able to control it.
