I have DIRECTV for satelite, and need another line coming in. We already have one splitter that has a powersource, and splits 3 to 6 I believe. Can I use another splitter down the line past that to free up another line or will it not work since it is already split once?

Thanks

it should work. Only problem with splitting it again and again would be the signal gets weaker everytime you split it... but i dont see how it would not work.

Turned out I had an open spot on my splitter, so I ran a new wire. Lots of work but worth it.

To answer your question, No...a splitter will not work. The other splitter you speak of is called a multi-switch and is probably a 4x6 powered switch and has the ability to correctly split the signal coming from the LNBs on the dish but a plain inline splitter can't divide the signal correctly. When you try to use an inline splitter both of the receivers have to be watching the same channel, or rater have to be watching channels that are broadcast from the same transponder. The splitter will not let one line be on both even and odd transpondsers at the same time.
