MLB won't happen in DC. These are the same people who voted a crackhead into the mayor's office. If Bob Bass wasn't so busy with other ventures, he'd snap the franchise up and bring it to North Carolina, baby.

N.C. can't even sell basketball tickets let alone selling out a baseball season. Bring em' to Portland.

When the Hornets were in Charlotte they set NBA attendance records. The Tarheel State is nuts about basketball. George Shin left because the State gov't wouldn't pick up the rest of the tab for a new stadium (Charlotte had already pass a referendum to build an arena, but that SOB Shin didn't want to pay anything--FUCK'EM). To prove my point, when was the last time(before Charlotte) a market lost a professional franchise and was awarded a new one in two years or less? NEVER! David Stern knows the dealio!

Hate to break this to you but the new Charlotte Area has different color seats to make the illusion of "fans" sitting in them. So it doesn't look so empty on T.V.

Like I said when the Hornets where in town they set attendance records. With George Shin taking his team to a smaller market( like New Orleans) that will not get the same amount of patronage as Charlotte, a lot of fans were pissed off. Anyone who runs a business knows when you loss customers it takes time to get them back(US Airways will learn this lesson the hard way). But David Stern knows the Carolina's are a gold mine for the NBA, that's why the NBA wasted no time putting an expansion team in Charlotte
