I urgently need to know if RCA DRD222RD ird can be activated with a legal P5 card.
Lets,say if DTV would deliver a P5 card(previous legalities) to fit in a RCA DRD222RD.

were you a previous customer? or where you using a "testing" card before? do you have a p5 already? or do you want d@ve to send you a new one?

it can be activated without problem in your receiver... my opinion would get one card that has not been activated from the net (online auction places are good), and call d@ve explaining to them that you just brought a receiver.. and needs to be activated....

any card can be activated in any model of IRD as long as the card in the reciever isn't already active (read married) to any other receivers. You can get new (legal) cards from DTV for $20. Or sometimes you can find a box that was never activated at a yard sale and get them for a few dollars. 'Course if you aren't an existing customer and the 1yr warrantee doesn't bother you just tell the agent that you are interested in coming back to DTV, but don't have any equipment and they will hook you up with free stuff.
