As a past Gold Member I enjoyed some great and wonderful material of beautiful women and also managed to save some really nice pictures. But with teenage kids running around all the time, I was always worried someone might find my stash of beautiful women ON the computer. I saved to CD's, but even that didn't quite work. With various storeage devices coming on the market and the cost of the devices also dropping, enter the USB drive.
The usb drive is a small handy storage device. Very compact and now inexpensive. You can find 8GB drives on sale for as little as $19.99 and 1 GB for $7.99. You can store an entire OS like Linix or even Windows and carry it with you any where. You can plug your USB drive into any computer to work on or view. One of the neat things about this is that once you unplug your USB drive, there is no history left behind. Just like you never used the computer.
I spent a lot of time surfing the internet for software to put on my USB drive. Some USB manufacturers supply some software on their sticks. There is a USB drive out called U3. I stayed away from this one because there is very little FREE software for it and you can only run software especially written for U3 Flash Drives.

Anyway I want to share the information I have uncovered on software for USB Flash Drives. The software is referred to as PORTABLE SOFTWARE. The discriptions are off the sites themselves and I'm not recommanding one over another. You will have to judge which software is best for you. I am also providing a link for special software that will format a USB Flash Drive as well as the links for each site at the end of each description. The format tool is a great to tool to have, but remember that you erase everything when you use it.
I HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL. JJDM

Wininizio PenSuite

WinInizio.it is happy to present Wininizio PenSuite, a collection of free and open source software that can be copied onto a USB pen drive or used from a hard disk.
The new PenSuite is a revolutionary product that comes is four versions: SILVER, GOLDEN, PLATINUM and TITANIUM; these contain software belonging to all the categories (Multimedia, Internet, Network, Security, System, Utilities…).
The new version WinInizio PenSuite 2.1 introduces some innovations:
The software contained in the PenSuites is stand-alone and doesn’t require installation; each program is easily launched directly from the pen drive and accessed directly from a menu that’s similar to the Quick Launch menu in Windows.
Just plug your pen drive into your PC’s USB slot and have immediate access to hundreds of free programs.
Carry it in your pocket or purse and have the right software for every situation. The PenSuite offers many software categories — for instance, security, networking, and multimedia— enough that you could use it on a PC that has just the operating system installed.
You can also use the PenSuite from a hard drive in your PC — or even an external, USB hard drive. As with the pen drive, you don’t have to install any of the programs — just copy the contents of the pen drive into a folder on the hard drive and immediately choose from among the hundreds of applications.
Wininizio Pen Suite is available in twelve different editions, one richer than the next, with the only limitation being the size of your pen drive.

The Portable Freeware Collection

This website was started in 2004, and houses well over 1,000 portable software packages. This site alone represents more software then you will ever be able to find by just surfing the internet.

The ideal definition of "portable" is;
• It must run without installation.
• It must run on older versions of Windows which might not have been updated.
• It must not have any coupling with Internet Explorer, audio/video codecs, DirectX etc.
• It must not write settings to the registry or local file system.
• It must not leave any trace on the host machine at all, even when the app crashes (hereby referred to as "stealth").
• It must run with guest access rights.
• It must be able to compensate for USB memory stick drive letter changes.

On top of those useful portable apps, if you are having trouble with your flash drive, you may want to check out this article (http://www.usbtalk.net/2009/09/recovering-broken-unformattable-and-ghost-usb-flash-drives/). It will walk you through the process of recovering a broken USB stick. Just be sure to follow instructions fully, to prevent any damage to your equipment, as it warns.
