I haven't found the catch yet but there may be one somewhere.

It does have sort a of a pyramid scheme to it.

You go to a player's challenge page(mine) (http://licuwb.mybrute.com) and create a character and can password protect it. This is the recruitment phase.
Your fights are all computerized. Just sit back and pummel or be pummeled as the case may be.
Then you can register your character for the days tournament and fight an additional 6 people. You can have 3 fights a day after that.
You can join a clan or start one if you reach level 10. This may be where money might be involve at some point but I don't know. I'll wait for a WR clan to be created.

Motion-Twin's web games are free. Users can enjoy playing for free every day. It is possible to speed up the progression of the game or of playing for a longer time. This possibility is available through payment. Players who make use of this possibility allows Motion-Twin to cover the running costs of this type of web pages.

Recruiting players to play also gives you experience points. They don't ask for any info but a password, so I'm not too worried about it.

Yeah, it's just a game. No info needed. You just pick a password for your fighter.

Signed up for one of the other games (Dinoparc), found that in it you can buy gold to increase your game play. The game itself does not require anything other than a user name and password to play. It's sort of a pay more to play more thing.

The only spam as far as MyBrute goes is sort of personal. Players get experience from the pupils that they sign up. You actually become a pupil by challenging a member which is part of signing up. So it's sort of necessary spam for those that want to play the game.
