Vista to XP?

Well, I bought a computer that has Vista Starter on it. I have XP Pro disc and when I start my machine I have it to boot the dvd drive but it doesn't work. vista starts anyway. I can run setup of XP after vista starts but I cannot click on install XP. its all grayed out. somebody please help me....

Is the xp disc boot able?
I would first check if your computer has drivers for XP.
Then back up all important files ie music, pictures, documents or whatever.

Stick XP pro disc in restart and and follow instructions.
