i'm a 25 yr old guy just started dating a 19 yr old girl who is basically everything a guy could ask for, only thing that doesn't satisfy me is our age difference. anyone have opinion on it? is she too young for me?

A lot of people go by the Half your age plus seven rule (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half_your_age_plus_seven#The_.22half-your-age-plus-seven.22_rule)
25/2 +7 =19.5 so by that standard you're good to go.

It should only matter to you.
I don't see any problem if she fills voids. If the only issue is age because of what other people think, fuck them.

There's a big difference in being 19 and acting 19. My question is how an age could satisfy or not satisfy you... just pretend you two never told each other your ages... does she do anything you don't care for, or are others negatively assess the dating like Juan said?

Wise words, CD. I completely agree.
My problem is I want them to look my age but act older, which is kind of impossible, since most guys take looooooonger to mature.

Early 30 year olds still look like they are mid 20's if they are good about their grooming and keep in touch with fashion.
Just to add more to the original question, though. Honestly, 19 year olds, although they can go through the motions and act older, haven't really lived enough to where they can be trusted to not just act a certain age, but be in the mindset of a certain age.
My opnion, ignorant as it may be, is that have fun with your 19 year old, but don't expect too much in the compatability department.

I have to agree with the resident Messican here... hard to get life experience by age 19.

thanks i appreciate all the replies. i've considered the maturity thing cuz my last relationship was with a 21 yr old psycho so i didn't have many expectations of younger girls. but i'm a good judgement of character and she's a down to earth level headed woman. i think my problem is i am worried about what other people think, obviously cuz otherwise this thread wouldnt even be here if i wasn't... thanks again

Are you sure that you are a good judge of character given that, by your own admission, your last relationship was with a "psycho?"

Guy, you are just 25, what the hell kinda hurry are you to be in relationships anyway? Date around some.

what juan said...
Is 19 too young? Hell dude...25 is too young!
Date around, taste the world; don't make the 19-year-old your "girlfriend", put her in your bullpen for rotation with all the others you should be nailing at 25.

yea i see your point there too. i was in a relationship from 16 to 23 so i guess i'm not the type who "dates around" but yea its whatever we'll see where it goes

Wow...well, I hope you know what you are doing, man. Sounds to me like you need to get out and explore a little before you go settling down.

Dude, the psycho thing could be you. Not that you're psycho, but you attract or are drawn to psychos. Take some time to think about some things, such as:
1- why are you with her?
2- is it because she's needy (or needs something)?
3-do you know if she's been psycho in previous relationships?
4- has she failed any psychological/personality tests?
5- has she been diagnosed with any type mental/personality disorder?
6- she take heavy duty mind altering or mood improving drugs?
I'm just asking. I spent some time with crazy women and can tell you the beginnings of these relationships are very intense; however, the meltdown at the end is better classified as thermonuclear.
It took me quite awhile of looking into me and how/why I was attracted to crazy women. It's a cycle I've broken and damn happier because of it.
Personally, I wouldn't care what others think, unless your pals are telling you she's crazier than Ozzy Osborne on an LSD trip. Then, you might want to take your pals opinions into consideration.

Listen to the resident Messican and Diety. I can't offer anything better than these two!

If you get along & have the same interests, who cares?

He does, which is why he is asking. ITs only a ~6 year difference. Had he come in here saying I'm a 33 year old and want to date a 27 year old, no problem. But this chick is 19...not old enough to even buy a beer most places. That will fuck with you big time, specially if the guy is into going to 21+ places with his woman.

yea that's the other thing, i'm at the 21+ pool hall 3-4 nights a week. i dont really want to wait til i'm 27 to take my girl out to places i enjoy.. and i sure as hell am not going to fucking "teen night" at the clubs.. too many pros and cons but it doesn't weigh heavier on either side...
as far as the psycho thing, that was only one girl and it lasted 3 months so i'm not too worried about one bad egg... and no i'm not in any way shape or form attracted to girls who drink to forget about their life and in doing so transform into the incredible hulk...

Pool hall 3-4 nights a week? Is this what people my age really do on their downtime? Man, I feel like such a loser now.
If you guys moved to Canada that problem would be solved. Age of majority is 19. :)

Unless you can sneak her out, bro, its going to present trouble. I'm not saying you can't make it kinda work for a while...I mean I've got a good friend who dated an 18 year old at ~28...but they had issues about places they could go out to. I mean, once you're 21 plus, you usually don't even think about places to hang out in...you will have to or have to leave her at home.

I agree with most people here, if she is a mature 19yr old go for it. You dont want some childish 19yr old anyway. And she is legal so there is no harm there. My friend is marrying a 32 yr old who has kids already from a previous marriage. The girl is 22 he is 32 and the both go well together. Age cannot determine whether to love someone or not unless they are under 18.

Look at it this way, if you had a 19 year old daughter and she was dating a 25 year old guy, what would be the first thing you thought of when considering the 25 year old guy? Probably that he doesn't have the best intentions.

for me it's all about connection...my last gf was 10 years younger than me (I was 37 she was 27)
19 is not underage why so worried about it? Who cares what others think as long as she is of legal age and you guys have a connection and can relate to each other well.
