Is anyone else trying out Windows 7? I downloaded it about a week ago and I love it so far. It's far better than Vista and looks sharper than XP. I haven't really had any compatibility issues or bugs with it yet either. I'm impressed.

I loved my XP. It has taken me some time to adjust to Vista. I'm not very happy with Vista yet. How does Windows 7 compare with using RAM and other system resources?
Can I install and try Windows 7 without screwing anything up with Vista? I ask because I'm not the greatest comp user.....

For resources, it "feels" about the same to me but I have not done any benchmarking against either for hard numbers. If there's a specific tool you are curious about I would be willing to bench it and post numbers.
On a pc at work I am dual booting Vista Business 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit with no issues. The only software I've found incompatible so far is Daemon Tools.
Hardware that was not recognized in Device Manager was able to use Vista drivers to rid the yellow exclamation.
I used a 500 GB drive and created partition1 with 150 GB of space and installed Vista then put the media in for Windows 7 and created partition2 of 150 GB and installed Windows 7 there.

I use WindowsXP Pro on all my computers (5). I tried a Vista Beta on one of my computers just before it went public and had problems with hardware and software and it was slooow. The desk top on Vista was just TOO BUSY for me. I dumped it after a few days.
Now I am test driving WINDOWS 7. To me there is a world of difference between Vista and Windows 7. Win7 loaded on my laptop computer with no issues of any kind. I really like the icons at the bottom of the desk top. Win7 is much more snappy, quick and I like that the desk top is not cluttered with all the gadgets. Win7 does have the gadgets as an option if you want to use them. So far the only software program Win7 didn't like was SUPERANTISPYWARE. It's a good program for finding malaware and spyware on your computer. I got the dreaded BLUE screen when I installed it. Once I rebooted and uninstalled Superantispyware, my computer has run great. I really like Win7... I think Microsoft has a winner here and the business community will love it and probably buy Win7 over Vista when they do decide to upgrade from WindowsXP Pro.
