COM Surrogate error message

I have Vista and I keep getting an error message when open up folders in Windows telling me that the COM Surrogate has stopped working. It seems to pop up twice every time.

I can almost immediately close them, but it is a pain because it is happening every time.

Is there anyone out there familiar with this problem??
