I was fooling around with torrents and found an offer from useNExt claiming to boost download speeds up to 50o/o. Does anybody have any experience with this site? If so,would appreciate some input, thanks.

Yeah mate, they're best avoided, heard too many stories of folk being burned by them.
They don't boost anything, just their servers allow you to download at your full speed is all.
If you're really interested in binaries, you'll get a much better deal & bigger choice of downloads with someone like Giganews.
I've no idea what it cost on your side of the pond, but i highly recommend newsgroups for all your downloading needs..

You don't need to be an an "internet expert" to use Usenet, but you do need to do a little research.
Me, I'm all up the newsgroups, and I even have my 13-year old daughter downloading her own tunes & videos so if she can get the hang of it any grownup can for sure. Right? :)
OK so initially you need to get 2 things to get up & running...
Get access to a news server (your isp prolly already provides one to you for free-check their homepage). Peeps who get into Usenet also will invest in a "premium" news server as well, which can go for a small monthly fee but will hold things longer than your ISP's, I personally recommend http://www.usenetserver.com for a premium service; it runs about $15/month for unlimited downloads, where other premium services cap you at a certain number of Gigs/month and charge more. Another good premium service is at http://www.astraweb.com where they offer a pay-per-download type of account where you pay like $10 to get 25GB of downloads and the credit is not limited by time. Either way you go a premium news service is going to be something you want to get if you become anything more than an infrequent downloader.
Secondly and even more importantly - get a good binary newsreader program, my recommendation is NewsBin Pro which you can get at http://www.newsbin.com This is simply a browser for viewing the posts inside the newsgroups, but you must have one if you are going to do this - the web-based services are patent rip-offs. The NewsBin program will cost I think $30 but you can trial run it for a couple weeks for free to check it out (or find a cracked version on the newsgroups LOL), and there are also freeware offerings out there, but most of them pale in comparison to NewsBin Pro. Personally it is one of the few pieces of software I actually did purchase however.
Read a few FAQs that you can find on those sites & on Google to get it all up & running...
There are some other web tools out there that make things easier, one of them being the search engine & nzb file creation utilities at http://v3.newzbin.com (not related to the newsreader software). An nzb file is just a text file that your newsreader can open & provide a list of all the files you need to download for a particular post - since most posts are comprised of multiple RAR file sets.
The service is subscription-based at like 30 pence sterling/week, but it can save you invaluable time & bandwidth in that you do not need to take the time & bw to download all the headers for a particular newsgroup before you can tag & download what's in it (the old skool way). Trust me you will want to have a good search engine & file creation utility like this because the newsgroups are HUGE and will take forever to navigate through if you go at it old skool.
Oh yeah it's in Brit currency but they will translate it for you & they'll take payment from all major CC's and PayPal...unlike Webrats  They are also running a Christmas special right now until New Year's Day, where it is half price at 15 pence/week (like 22 cents) so it is an especially super deal ATM - I'm topping up for the whole year.
Have fun, I hope it works for you because there really is no greater safer warez/movie/etc source on the intraweb.
Yes, it may take you a little longer to get going than just paying these people at the website you mentioned (which I personally do not trust & has been labeled as "dangerous" by several anti-spam & anti-phishing sites), but in the long run it will be cheaper & easier for you.
Also, Usenet is not file sharing - you can choose to upload stuff to it to share, but that can get you into trouble (RIAA/MPAA) if you don't know what you're doing. As far as downloading, you will never be hassled since it's all pretty anonymous already (to download).
