Red Ring of Death

So there I was playing COD4 on xbox live when all the sudden screen froze and had to reset the machine. I went into the other room for a drink and came back to a blank tv and the red ring of death on my xbox. This happened to anyone else?

My son's Xbox had this problem last summer,called Microsoft and they have a
place in McAllen Tx where they fixed the problem and sent back to him.

yeah I read about the repair process online. But as a sign from the gods, about two hours after I posted, my wife's friend put a wii remote into my tv. So I guess I wont be missing the Xbox that much. (pics to follow)

I was either going to get the PS3 or the XBox and after reading up on a few sites i decided i was going for the XBox BUT i read that its a chip thing that gives the Xbox's the red ring so i bought the XBox Elite which has the chip thats in the clear so i made sure i wasnt going to have this problem down the line and got the safe version

Either way they've fixed the problem with that chip so unless you somehow get an older 360 a RRoD will be caused by something else most likely.
