i used to burn movies without any problems, but now when i burn movies they have started to freeze during play back and i cant work out why.
the freezing is happening at totally different points during the burn process.
i used to use nero 7 and had no problems at first, but when the problem started i upgraded to nero 8 (same problem but also no audio). i then bought a new dvd writer (same problem).
i have now tried convertxto dvd and the copies are better but freeze close to the end, about three quarters of the way through.
During the burn process i turn off my antivirus software and any other application that i can think of that may interfere.
processor amd 3000
ram 1.5 GB
writer LG GH22LP20
I really dont know what else to do. all help greatly received.
thanks in advance.

I use dvdfab platinum 4 ( i think 5 is out now) as my ripping/shrinking/program. I can also burn from the program too, but i think you have to have a burning software installed, which you do. I have an LG drive too and I've never had a problem with it.

A couple suggestions I could give you would be to use only quality media, not the generic stuff. Even that however can be hit or miss...in my personal experience I have had my best luck with Fuji & TDK...and I have had issues at times with both Maxell & Sony.

Also try knocking your burn speed down a notch or two from "Maximum"; yeah it may take a little longer to burn but that beats spinning another coaster.

Your LG drive should be good, make sure you use good discs(gonna have to figure out what works best for you), and like BDJ said, don't set your burn speed at max.

thanx everyone i have bought new discs and my burn speed is 4x. copies are now perfect. i was using tdk discs (the remaining 50 got used as frisbees against the shed, loads of fun hitting targets with the kids).
again thanx for the advice.

Agreeing with everyone else. NEVER burn at max. Bad juju.
Glad you got it sorted out.
