(i hope this is the right forum to post this in - maybe better in the computer forum?)
ok, so i want to share pr0n with the community, but i also don't want legal trouble. i understand that the official WR rules state that copyrighted materials can't be posted here, but i also understand that pretty much everyone breaks those rules, and has been doing so for years, so the rules are more for show/a precedent for when legal action is necessary. is there a way to go about uploading the goods that keeps me anonymous, or am i being overly paranoid and porn copyrights are technicalities that are rarely enforced? has anyone who's posted here ever had legal issues as a result? what are some tips for covering your ass?
mods - if you can't respond here, you should have my email on file.
thanks.

It doesn't say anywhere that copyrighted material may not be posted. What it says is, if someone owns the copyright, there is a process for them to have us remove the content. In a few cases, this has happened and we are unable to post material from certain porn sites.
If you post from this handle, you are anonymous. Read the rules sticky in the hotness how to share, and what's not allowed.

ok, so it's nice to know i'm anonymous here, but what about the sites that are hosting the content i'm sharing/uploading? do you have any tips on protecting/disguising myself on those sites? from what i understand, protocol for a webhost is to remove any offensive/infringing content and hand the uploader's ISP/IP address over to the copyright holder for a stiff legal fucking. this is all theoretical - i haven't heard of anyone being sued for sharing porn (only hear about movies and music), but i would imagine it has happened. i've seen plenty that was quickly removed, heard of cease and desist orders, but not actual lawsuits. i'm all about sharing anything i have that people want. i'm not all about getting raped in court for doing so. if you don't want to answer here, you can email me, or if there are sites/threads where tips on avoiding legal action are discussed, please point me in their direction. i'll do some more googling, but i imagine that - having done it for so long - you probably have answers at your fingertips that it'll take me a long time to find. hope i'm not being too nooby. i'm sure i'm being paranoid, but i think it's merited. (i was gonna cite some articles, but can't create outside links till i get a star under my name.)
are tools like 'hide my ip' or 'private proxy' useful, or a ripoff? are there freeware versions, or is that asking for trouble? any advice would be helpful.

the only people who will see your IP address information are we, the moderators of this site, and that's only if we care to look. sure you can try to hide your IP with masking programs etc but those only sometimes work & almost all times really slow your connection.
In the 4+ years I have been on WR we have never given out personal account information.
just participate & stop being so paranoid!
