Anybody check out the press conferences today?


I caught most of the Nintendo conference and it was pretty weak. Sony had a great conference though, and I haven't got to watch the Microsoft one yet.

Microsoft killed it in my opinion with the addition of Netflix on live and a little game franchise a few had heard of.

I still feel pissed Microsoft axed Bungie's announcement. I understand the logic, but they still dicked Bungie over.

Anyway, i liked the MS and Sony press conferences (not in to Nintendo so didn't watch that).
My opinion on the new Xbox Dash is it looks good, Only thing that sucks is in Australia we wont get most of the good stuff; we never do. Take for example the Video Marketplace, we don't have that and there is no sign of it ever coming. Same with that News thing you guys in the US have on the dashboard. And as for Netflix in this new dash (or what ever it is called), i am pretty sure we wont get that among other things in the update.

I have seen some glimpses of the fall Xbox Live update and wow it looks real cool.

Also with the release of that Lips game with motion interactive microphone controllers it looks like XBox is going now to move toward the type of physically interactive games that Nintendo has dominated with in their Wii system.

As an Xbox owner from the very beginning who has yet to find a Wii for sale at regular retail (I just don't want to look that hard or wait in a line), I say good fucking deal!!

I'm starting to find Wii's available rather regularly now. I've had a 360 from the first Xmas but rarely use it.

Looking at the PS3 for it I want a blu-ray player

heh heh well you can download & play HD now thru your XBox so who needs BluRay?? :)

and now with Netflix partnering with Xbox Live it is going to be even easier to have your HD on the TV.

If you want a Blu-Ray player for your HDTV, I'd strongly suggest actually buying a player... not your PS3. The video and audio quality difference is there... in spades.

How can there be a difference? Have you ever gone to the store and seen a wall of 720p, 1080i, and 1080p televisions? If so, do they all have the same image quality? How can it be that all 1080p televisions don't look the same?

Use that reasoning to the PS3 vs a standard player.

UFC 2009 and Far Cry 2 are about the only games I'm looking forward to in the future.

I'm pretty excited for the Wii remote improvements, I can't wait for a new Zelda game to come out using the enhanced response, sword fighting will be awesome.

The Netflix on XBox 360 is making me seriously consider getting one now, I've been debating getting a 360 or PS3 when Ghostbusters comes out.
