good for you! I've stopped playing awhile ago, but I'm hesitant to sell my account yet, I'm debating playing again once the next expansion comes out late this year.

hahaha - I quit a year and a bit ago... I still get the bite to start playing again, but I love the amount of free time I've gotten as a result of quitting.

I have a question about WoW and the whole quitting factor....

I've been playing for about a year, on and off every few months so about 8 months total. I have a lvl 70 mage, and a lvl 70 warlock.

I dont raid any high level stuff like Kara, I dont do BG. The maximum time I would play in a day would be about 2 hours.

I go to college full time, work part-time as a substitute teacher and soccer referee.

I've been WoW free for about 2 months now. i do want to go back to playing a little bit cause I do miss it. The only other games I play are Halo3 and guitar hero.

Now my problem....

I do feel kinda like a loser when I play WoW. The stigma that is attached to it is like "Wow you are addicted! You have no life if you play WoW." I don't think I am addicted and I do hang out with my friends and I love being outdoors. But how the media makes it out to my friends/family, they think I have some addiction issues. "Its not a real world. Do something else with your time. Its like internet crack!" I've heard it all, and it makes me feel bad when I play and I feel like I disappoint them.

Is it worth it to keep playing? Are there any just casual WoW gamers on here that just play for the fun of it, and dont worry about gear/raiding/etc? How do you deal with this stigma?

Thanks

If you have two level 70s with only playing 2 hours a day over a year, I'm impressed.

If you can do that than you are fine. If you are doing instances and not realizing that 4 hours went by (not including the time it took to group) than you are too deep in the game. That's what made me quit. Not being about to set aside the 6 hours in a block to do an high level instance.
