OK, so I finally started playing it, and it's kind of fun to have the mix between a FPS and RPG.
The issues I have are in it's size (I don't really have the time to commit to such a long game) and that I can't get me to look like anything other then an old Asian man. And why can't height and weight be changed?

So. Who's played it and what do you think?

I played it & really liked it.

I think my time for the game was about 42 hours total (the game totals it up for you as you go along). And you need to work on those appearance settings because I was able to make a normal caucasian looking guy.

I will admit though that my first attempt looked asian once I started playing the game - you need to make the eyes rounder in the appearance settings than you might think because once the character is in the game they look a bit different.

all told it really was a blast to play but it did suck up a lot of my time. I would like to go back & play it as more of an asshole to see how things turn out if at all differently but since I beat it I started playing Call Of Duty 4 and am now into that. Maybe I'll give Mass Effect another go when I finish CoD4...that is taking a lot less time to get htru

Can I change the appearance mid game, or do I have to start a new character?
I ask now because I'm not far enough into the game to really care about losing the little I've done...but a few more hours and it wouldn't be worth it.

nah you have to start over. But the good news is that once you finish the game with that character you can replay the game using him again if you wish (in case you play once as a nice guy & then want to play again as an asshole - or vice versa - as I want to try).

Mass Effect is pretty cool, I just started it and my character has a flat nose (oops). Its pretty strange looking when viewed from the side.

Good game in general. I liked the concept and story, also liked that it was deep and allowed you to screw around on different planets. Unfortunately, it was way too easy, even on the harder difficulty levels. That and the main story was ultimately kind of short and didn't involve the party members very well. There was a lot of untapped potential, but it was still enjoyable, especially if you'd been craving another KOTOR like I had been.

A thought this was a great game. The graphics were good and the interface was user-friendly. Storyline seemed a bit short, but the dialogue was spot on. I don't think it was all that time consuming...you could finish it rather quickly if you ignore the side quests.
