I love it; in fact me & my BFF Jackie-0 (who actually picked out that smiley you're using there for WR) go for sushi almost every Friday night.
Big fans of Crunchy Roll (Cali w/ shrimp), Dragon roll (Cali w/ avocado & eel), and a Shogun roll that is tuna in w/ something else and rolled in smelt eggs that burst in your mouth...
YUM! :yumyum:
We don't ever do it at home though - too much prep for something that isn't that pricey to have someone else make! :)

If you have not guessed, since I started this Thread, I am a fan of both.
I am one of those people who would eat it everyday if I could and even have my own little rituals already. (Like starting any meal with Crunchy Roll and laying out my Chopsticks just so, etc....)
By far, of the dozens of different places I have had it, Little Tokyo in Mandeville, La is my favorite. It is a small place, but the quality of their product is superior to all according to my taste buds.
--Snowcrab Calimari and new roll developments make this a must try place, even if you are just passing through.--
My 2nd favorite place so far would be in Lafayette, LA near the Museum (wish I knew the name of the place). Here they provide Tabasco Soy Sauce, which for someone like me who does not like soy sauce is actually tasty.
My 3rd is Kirin Sushi & Steakhouse in Hammond, LA. If for nothing else, they make a Filet Mignon roll that just dissolves in your mouth.
As far as worst experience, 1 place REALLY stands out:
Osaka in Covington, La is sub-par quality and the time I went is more memorable because our waitress. She obviously did not know what deodorant is and smelled like she was on the back end of a triple shift. Now for someone who normally likes the smell of a woman you can imagine how rank she was to give me a bad sense memory.
I had another bad waitress experience combined with so-so food on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but I do not remember the name of that place and it was soon after Katrina so I can undestand the mentality.

Actually that reminds me that yeah - after going for sushi pretty regularly for quite a long time now, we only recently started getting the soft shell crab as an appetizer, and wow - intense yumminess right there!!!
Do you fold a little chopstick holder out of the wrapper from the sticks too? That's one of our recent affectations... :)

Yup! Even if they provide a place for the chopsticks I still fold one but do not use it.
I tried doing the more Japanese cutoms but in the U.S. it just makes you look weird. Stuff like not rubbing the chopsticks together to debur them because it is an insult, but frankly if they are not providing quality chopsticks just who is the insult on? Also I eat both Sashimi and Sushi with the chopsticks rather then by hand.... I kept getting weird looks from people when I ate Sushi like custom intends. And who does not order more then they can eat in a sitting? How are you expected to have Breakfast Sushi if there are no left-overs?

Nope, have not tried that one - we usually find a good, small local place & stick with that one until the chefs quit or we find something better.
We have a current favorite near my place that we will take you & Alex to when we get together for our thing soon - you will dig it, I guarantee. :)

Cool. If you are ever in the mood for lunch at Riptide, they do half price on all their cut rolls, even most the specialty ones. Me and a co-worker go once a week and we share 3 or 4 rolls and get out the door for $20.
