View Full Version : The Patriots will NOT go undefeated

Despite how strong they look in virtually EVERY phase, I don't see the Pats going without a loss this year. Who will beat them.

Thoughts?

I agree. They aren't perfect. Someone funky will beat them like Buffalo or Cleveland.

They have to play Dallas and Indy during the regular season. Those should be excellent games and very difficult for them to win.

They will beat Indy and Dallas.. It will be somebody they are supposed to beat heavily.. or it will be the Giants who play them the last week of the regular season.

Graffin

Yeah, especially if they do go undefeated for most of the season. Bellichick is not stupid, if they've secured the division, expect him to rest his starters for the last week or two of the season, and I'd expect a loss to pop up there.

OK so they're 13-0 with games against Miami (HAHAHAHHAHAHA), NY Jets (HAHAHAHAHAHAH), and the Giants (HAHAAHAHA), so I think they'll go undefeated....

I hate the Patriots!!! But I don't see anyone beating them this year. Or in the SUPERBOWL. What I would really like to see is for them to get beat in the Playoffs by Green Bay or Dallas. IT would be nice for Farve to Win one more before he is gone.

Impossible for them to get beat in the playoffs by Green Bay or Dallas.

Since both G.B. and Dallas play in the NFC.

He said Green Bar OR Dallas. Neither of which will beat the Pats anyway.

Uh, that still doesn't change the fact that both of those teams are in the NFC, which means that NE can't play them in the playoffs.

what do you mean impossible for dallas or green bay to beat them? Ever hear of the superbowl?? lmao.. Go Packers!

PS.. I will be rooting for the Pats all the way unless Green Bay meets them in the Superbowl.. however.. I hate Shula and the stuck up Dolphins team so i hope they go undefeated.

The Superbowl is not considered the playoffs. You play in the playoffs to get to the Superbowl.

adrenaline

but its still the pinnacle game of the playoffs.. anyhow i hope you beat the goon squad in the wr league that waldo's running. I want that #1 seed.

ok, whether the superbowl is the playoffs or not, NE can and probably will play one of them.

OK fine. So the Super Bowl is not a playoff. You say tomahto, I say tomato. Big deal.

I honestly don't care, but the bigger they come, the harder they fall. Maybe it's Bret Favre's year after all, not Tom Brady's.

Maybe your right. Maybe not. The Bolts, Giants and Packers are all playing with house money right now. No one expected them to get this far. On the flip side no matter WHAT the Pats do from here on out, they better win it all or the season is a failure. You cant say that about the other 3 teams.

This should be fun.

i dont think the chargers will cover anything.. rivers is not 100% and may even not play.. sorry but Volek's only job will be not to make any mistakes.. I expect Blowout in this one.

The packers will win also..

Packers Vs. Pats will be an awesome game!

wrong and wrong

I worked during the Pats game and sleepy during the Packers. Pretty sure the Pats will simply roll in the Super Bowl... :(

Giants almost beat the Pats a few weeks ago and they're on roll. Cinderella lives! If anyone can stop the Pats, it's the Giants.

I agree with booty....I thought the only team left to give the Pats a try was the Pack....With them out, the Superbowl will be another boring one. I'll still watch for the commercials though....

Very dissapointed in the Pack losing.. but they still had a great season and it was way better than i expected.. I predicted a 9-7 wildcard berth.

The GMen have been playing great... and they might have what it takes to beat NE.. They showed they could hang in their first meeting.. Now they have a week off to get healthier and who knows.. could pull the biggest upset in recent history.

I guess this is why you call yourself sir_drinkalot. You were probably imbibing when you posted. Because you did imply the Pats will lose.

Honestly, they should win this and go down as one of the all time great dynasties. So, it seems to be a foregone conclusion they will. However, they do have to play still. I probably won't watch it. I remember 2 years ago with the Steelers and the Seahwaks I had the game on behind me while I was at the computer. I intended to turn around each commercial, but forgot all about it. Maybe I'll try that trick again.....

Well..no surprise. I didn't earn my moniker drinking sunny d' lite. Unless you put Absolut in it. I dont blame anyone for not watching this one. Unless of course you happen to a hard-core football fan. History will be made one way or another. There are certainly other things to watch. Golf, for example..Tiger Woods(patriots) against the field. Or reruns of 'whats happenin!' with the aptly named Rerun as co-star. *hic*
Face it, everyone will watch. You HAVE to. There's nuthin' else on! It cant be avoided. If I were an opposing fan i'd be bullshit. Why bother..succumb to the dark side. It's nice over here. :)

Great play. Made me ill. Manning and Tyree pulled that one completely out of their ass. 99 times out of 100, Manning is either sacked or that ball bounces off Tyree's helmet. It still hurts. Thanks alot.

Go Pats! I am hoping they lose one game early so we don't have to listen to all that undefeated crap again all year. But it will be interesting to see how they come out this year after the hangover of the Super Bowl. Some holes to fill on defense, but I think they got a break with the schedule.

Hate to say it but I totally agree. The undefeated stuff was more of a hinderance than anything else. BTW, the Pats have one of the easiest schedules in the league this year. But of course, like power rankings...that dont mean shit.

I was initially worried about the four West Coast games (SD, SF, OAK, SEA), but they have been scheduled in a pair of back-to-back weeks, which allows for the possibility of staying out there the week in between.

BTW - can anyone quickly explain how you include the text of another post in a reply?

Thanks.

ob·sti·nate (bst-nt)
adj.
1. Stubbornly adhering to an attitude, opinion, or course of action; obdurate.
2. Difficult to manage, control, or subdue; refractory.

Yup, that's me. But the key word here is 'opinion'. You have yours, I have mine. So there!

you know, I originally posted it as obstinate, and changed it as I thought obstinant sounded better and didn't feel like looking it up. She knows what I mean though, I played that card on her when she tried to get fancy with me with a big word. Opinion is one thing, evidence is another. I can back my opinion up more than you can.

Back to football. As with last year, I don't really care who wins. I guess the Pats are favored to win it all?
