And I'm pissed.
Before I rant, I will let you know the shots of Jager and Jack and cokes are a flowin.
So my 360 took a shit today. After three months of having it. Brand fucking new out of the box piece of shit.
I was playing a little Crackdown today and all of a sudden the thing sounded like metal was piercing it's innards. The main screen works fine as well as the demo's but any disc I put in it says unreadable disc. Even brand new games I've just opened.
Here is exactly what happened:
CLICK ME (http://tigerplug.wordpress.com/2007/05/01/xbox-360-elite-problems-xbox-360-elite-doa/)
So now I have to send it to Microsoft/Xbox and get it serviced. This with Madden coming out in two weeks from today. :shannon:
You think spending 500 bucks on something should give you piece of mind that it will work properly for a long time. Nope. Can't wait for my Wii.
Then, my cable box starts acting weird. I get all my regular channels but my HD channels are all frozen. I call, Comcast says just wait a few minutes and it should be back. It was back...and hour and a half later.
Verizon just layed lines around town and already is promising more HD channels, better service, better customer service and cheaper prices. Hurry the fuck up please so I can drop Comcast on their asses.
And then, we buy a new Bissel vacuum for almost $200 about 4 months ago and it's ready for life at the dump. I clean and clear every filter, and tub that dirt and hair get into after every session of carpet cleaning and four months later I might have to buy another one? Fuck you Bissel I'm going Dyson.
With todays technology you would think companies would make shit that...I don't know....WORKS? All this money for nothing.
I'm just going to become Amish or a fucking dirty hobo.

Ouch....sorry to hear the troubles man. I had a bad week last week with vehicles. I got stranded with two broken down vehicles on the same day. The second vehicle was towing the first one that broke down. They still don't know what is wrong with my car, it won't start.
On another note, when I had xbox issues, it was back in my possession within three weeks of the original date that I sent it out. Your box is still under warranty though right, so you won't have to pay for the service. I just hope it doesn't take longer than 3 weeks, with this new red circle of death warranty extension they have been experiencing back-ups on servicing them.

wow man it does suck when everything craps out at once. I can't say that my xbox has ever taken a shit on me, I'm just lucky I guess <knock wood> it's run without a hitch since I got it in early 2006.
On the other hand, however, our water heater took a shit today & that cost us over 400 bucks to get fixed even with the new homeowner's warranty we got when we bought this place....so yeah pal, I think it's going around.
I blame the Muslims. Or the Jews. Or maybe just planned obsolescence. Either way it sux schweddy ballzach. :shannon:

Go Dyson, don't buy an Oreck. If you have pets you have to clean the goddamn thing everytime you vacuum. I'm glad I didn't pay for it, I'd have launched it onto the freeway.
What is the point of owning a vacuum that makes more of mess because you have to clean it all the time? I've seen the Dyson, it looks like it resolves that problem.

Thank you so much. I couldn't think of anything to explain irony to someone yesterday. Now I have it, and some lulz at someone's expense.
Seriously, though, that sucks.
Sorry to hear everyone's shit is going shit.
If any of you like tinkering with electronics at all, the NES is a simple fix, from what I've read. I've not had any spare cash for almost a year, so I've not tried this yet, but as soon as I do, I totally will.
All you have to do is replace the 72 pin connector inside the NES, and no more blowing. It's the part on the inside that doesn't make the connection right.
Damn, I gotta get one of these soon, I heard they're not making them any more. ONly 15 bucks, too.

Every time I play one....I have to blow in the game. Or it just doesn't feel right.

Well, why do you think most call Microsoft "Microshaft"! They know they've got a really bad item. I heard they extended the warranty from 1 year to 3 years, but I have'nt heard of ANY corrective measures being taken to actually fix the problems!!! Maybe IF they get most back they'll do some re-engineering. Yes, there's some really good reliable products still made....it's just they're becoming less & less.
I want buy anything when it 1st comes out. Wait & read the feedback from customer's, then decide!.....but then, that's just me.

Check out DirectTV. They're launching an HD line-up of about 150 channels in November. I've allways recomended Comcast to all my customers, but with this, I've been telling them different now.

When we signed up, they told us we would have about 100 HD channels by the end of 2007.
We have about 20. :usuck:

I feel bad for you. Partly because my 360 has been working great for almost 2 years now (in november this year), absolutely no problems whatsoever.

hey hard luck but i had a dyson and a some parts will missing so the next day someone came round and replaced it staight away and now the vaccum is super. I still don't understand why it was missing parts in the first place when is was NEW. Anyway in the UK we have the 'Sale of goods' act which basically means that everything we buy must be of a reasonable quaility and last a reasonable time, (up to 6 years), even if it out of warrenty the retailer is responsible. i figure that the US must have a silmilar law 'rule' which could be off use.
They do make shit/stuff shit nowdays to keep themselves in business of selling parts, if they make shit to last then no one would buy shit for there shit. lol. So comanies make shit to break so u have to buy shit afterwards. That SUCKs as my dad says OLD it GOLD, i can c but not agree with where he's coming from.
BTW i play my nes/N64 all the time i want to show the younger generation what fun u can have without breaking the bank, that has not gone wrong since the day it was new. I also blow, habit, not sure y.

I've now had 2 360's go...
I guess it's kind of like Dell. They rave about their customer support...and everyone that I know that's owned one has had to use it at least once.
Also, I can't get satellite where I am due to Strata restrictions, and only 1 cable company, so I'm stuck with 20 channels and little hope for more any time soon.

Your father is right. Back when I use to get an Electronics Trade magazine in the 70's which stated that the life of consumer electronic units(TV, Radio, etc) were design to last 7 years and after that point replacement was recommended over repair. Of course this was the edge of moderne electronics when transistors were becoming the norm in cheaper portable units. Now, if they don't come out with a new unit every 2 or 3 years the companies probably go out of busness. Now that things are coming in from china you'll probably see circuit boards made of cardboard.

funny...I have one of the normal 360's that I bought last summer, it still works like a charm. The only bitch I have about it is that my fucking Guitar Hero guitar isn't cordless, cheap bastards couldn't sell the game with the wireless guitar.

Yeah, my mom broke her hip about a year after my dad died. They replaced it but she never really got over it and has had to use a walker ever since. She is up there though she was 76 when she broke it and will be 87 in November.
