What? The hospital didn't keep you for a while or explain why it could happen? Did you tell them that you had been smoking pot?
Here's some info on arrhythmias and increased heart rate. Do some research on your own or check in with a doctor again
Tachycardia
A fast heart rate is called tachycardia. Tachycardias fall into two major categories. Ventricular tachycardia involves only the ventricles. Supraventricular tachycardia involves both the atria and the ventricles. The definition of "too fast" usually depends upon the person's age and physical activity.
What causes tachycardia?
Under certain conditions, the automatic firing rate of secondary pacemaker tissue may become too fast. If such an abnormal "focus" fires faster than the sinus node, it may take over control of the heart rhythm and cause tachycardia.
In another type of abnormal conduction, impulses get caught in a merry-go-round-like sequence. This process, called reentry, is a common cause of tachycardias. Regardless of their cause, tachycardias are classified by where they arise. Thus, ventricular tachycardias start in the heart's ventricles (lower chambers). Supraventricular tachycardias arise higher in the heart — either in the upper chambers (atria) or the middle region (AV node or the very beginning portion of the His-Purkinje system.)
What are the symptoms and treatments for tachycardia (rapid heart beating)?
Rapid heart beating can produce symptoms of palpitations, rapid heart action, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting or near fainting. Heartbeats may have either a regular or irregular rhythm. Rapid heart beating in the ventricles — called ventricular tachycardia — can be life-threatening. The most serious cardiac rhythm disturbance is ventricular fibrillation, where the lower chambers quiver and the heart can't pump any blood. Collapse and sudden death follows unless medical help is provided immediately.
If treated in time, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation can be converted into normal rhythm with electrical shock. Rapid heart beating can be controlled with medications and by identifying or destroying the focus of rhythm disturbances. One effective way of correcting these life-threatening rhythms is by using an electronic device called an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

sounds like you had something similar to a panic attack, though one should consult ones doctor after symptoms like that, just to be on the safe side.

do you get grit weed there
i know its a problem is UK
This is a straight lift from Urban75 Drugs forum. Please EXPAND AND READ!! Its a bit long but READ IT.
Quote:
Here is some analysis of the so-called "grit weed" being consumed by millions of cannabis users at present.
from the UKCIA forum posted Christmas day.
I have done a basic analysis on the contaminants of 3 batches of bud from SW, SE and London- I have also seen similar samples from many, many sources, starting at the end of February 2006.
1: Under microscope at 50x magnification, contaminants appear as very small (50-120 um) beads, with regular circular shape and small pores/ single holes present.
2: Beads do not dissolve in non polar solvents (pet ether) or polar solvents (ethanol, acetone).
3: Beads are insoluble in conc NaOH solution, conc H2SO4.
4: Melting point is above 400C, but cannot perform TG, DTG analysis at the moment so cannot specify any transition temperatures or accurate melting points.
5: The beads have a significant sodium and silicon content, suggesting that the comments previously about silicates are correct.
6: Smoking this has resulted in mouth ulcers and sore throats/ chesty coughs which never occur when smoking normally due to the good health and only occasional cannabis use of the subject.
7: Reliable sources say that this contaminant is industrial etchant spray
used for glass frosting, It is a high pressure aerosol of propellant, lubricant and silicate abrasives. This accounts for the high permeation levels displayed in all 3 samples, with particulates presents inside even 'tight' buds all the way into the stems. This also may account for the non plany oils present in the bud which have been previously described as a 'glue'
8: The same sources (and other independent sources) have corroborated the same story of the origin of this contamination. The main suppliers are from 2 major cities to the north of wales and are gangs from these two cities. Most people will guess where I mean as the post 'drought' supplies are mainly concentrated around these cities.
9: Obviously a further qualitative analysis is needed and I may be able to
perform MS, IR, NMR and thermal methods on the samples, in particular the oil 'glue' and the gritty particulates.
10: DO NOT SMOKE THIS, IT MAY POSE A SIGNIFICANT HEALTH HAZARD AND WE MAY SEE A DRUG TAKING COMMUNITY CRISIS ON A LARGER SCALE THAN THE MPTP CRISIS OF THE EARLY 80'S. BUYERS: PLEASE RECONSIDER BEFORE BUYING ANY MORE OF THIS, AND CONSIDER THE DAMAGE YOU MAY BE CAUSING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.
PLEASE RE-READ POINT 7. IT IS THE MOST RELIABLE INDICATOR OF THE MOST OBSERVED CONTAMINANTS. OTHER CONTAMINANTS SUCH AS NATURAL SAND ARE PROBABLY THE RESULT OF SUPPLIERS COPYING THE ETCHANT METHOD WITH WHATEVER THEY HAVE TO HAND.
If there is any truth in the above (I believe there to be but the law against cannabis prevents any open independent research) this could lead to harms far, far greater than pure cannabis ever could do. We need a high profile public awareness campaign from the government NOW. This is what prohibition does.

Yeah, I've had the same thing happen to me. It feels like your heart gets really warm and you can feel the blood flowing through your veins. Then, it becomes very uncomfortable, almost like it burns, right? Then your mind tells you, "Oh! Something's wrong!" Exact same thing has happened to me the last two times. The tachycardia is normal when smoking anything, cigarettes, weed, and pretty much anything else. Not entirely sure what it is that does it, but it's definitely natural. The heart thing, though. It scared the shit out of me the first time.

it could have been cut with something. Sometimes, the douchiest of dealers will put crack or something in the weed, presumably to get people hooked on it and then sell it to them, I don't know. You may have had some impure grass, and my heart goes out to you if that's the case.

Ugh, how many times does this have to be explained, it does not make money to cut pot with other drugs! All you do is give your smokers a better high and cost you money. They can go buy pot off other people, and you've just lost out, and you can't sell them new drugs unless you tell them you've laced it.
It can be cut with household chemicals and other foreign objects though, in which case you have a problem.
One time I had a tachycardia problem where my heart would go up to 220 BPM. I had a minor surgery to correct it. If it continues, check with your doctor about it, there actually could be a problem that is magnified when you smoke possibly.

just a panic attack, let some time go buy and smoke again it will be fine
you dont have any heart condition cause you would get the symptons from a lot of things that you do besides somkin weed... dont swet it, give it a week and smoke one again, it will be just fine. some times your mind just fucks with you, i wouldnt recomend you doing any stronger drugs though, not untill you get your mind a little stronger

sorry thats just what harry j anslinger would have said
that was a very silly statement as its perfectly impossible to infuse crack with weed
what would they sell this weed at?
crack aint free so the weed would be 20X the price
ive heard of one idiot who put some cocaine into a joint and it didnt burn right
so he wasted his weed and coke so its a bad plan

Ok mate the same thing happened to me once.Well i dont even smoke cigarettes but I was with my cousin who smoked Hashish.Everything was fine till i kind of felt my heart miss a beat and then suddenly went haywire. My heart was racing like anything.Being related to the medical field i knew instantly that i was having a form of tachycardia but then i had a feeling that it was an arrhythmia cause the rate of my heart was irregular meaning that the atria and ventricles were beating at different intervals.Well consequently i was in the CCU after ten minutes and i had to be given certain anti arrhythmic drugs to revert me back to sinus rhythm. What happened to me was atrial fibrillation.Ventricular fibrillation can take you a matter of minutes but i guess i was lucky.Well this happens with smoking weed and opioids so i would suggest stays away from them guys.
Sounds like some kind of panic attack, you can't die from weed so don't worry to much just relax and the feeling will go away. And if you smoke again don't think about it because you will panic much faster.

Classic case of anxiety attack.
I've personally had one myself, and I felt very sick.
Had to throw up, didn't feel good for a few days...
There isn't a all-curing resolution for this..but the only way to prevent them is to tell your self that it's all in the mind.
Try to have a smoke or something, anything that relaxes you.
If it wasn't an anxiety attack, it could have been laced with something else. But the chance of that happening is very very rare.

I'm pretty sure you almost killed yourself and i dont think you would have died from it, allthough if you think your going to die enough, you can actually kill yourself. I have the same thing happen when i put pot into my system i have a panic attack the entire time im high, i fucking hate the high and since everytime i smoke it this happens i dont. I have anxiety to begin with and i think the bud just intensifies it. I would think that i am dying and just freak the fuck out, just dont put drugs in your body if you know your body doesnt like the drugs.
Don't be like me and listen to your stupid fucking druggie friends who call you a pussy and say you just need to smoke more often, and that they have never heard of this. Yes it happens and i never got used to "being high" on weed as my friends said i would.
in england we would say ya smoked too much and threw a whitey ....

Yep.. I used to white out, soon as i started to think about it.. its just panic, enhanced by the fact that you're stoned.. makes it seem far worse than it really is..
Given all the drugs that have passed through my system, over the years i've been using (about 25) i just tell myself that i've been way further than this before & i'm still here.. works everytime.. not had a whitey for well over ten years now:)
The suggestion to go see your doctor is i think a waste of both yours & your doctors time, he'll just tell you to stop smoking it.
Of course if you've got heart problems anyway, you might want to stay away from anything that adds unnecessary stress to your condition & follow any advise your doctor might have..
Oh yeah & leave hash alone, they cut it with anything they can get their hands on..

you know why? cause some pot is mixed with speed to give it a little extra buzz and makes somebody who is not expecting it freak out cause they think they are dieing
