hey i have 2 100mcg/hour fentanyl patches, and i have worn them and then i took them off too sleep, i was wondering since they loose their stick and wont stay on after you take them off, is there any way to get the fentanyl off of them, or any trick to wearing them again... i have tried taping them on and it doesnt seem to work.

Maybe wrap with a bandage since they won't stick anymore?

Geeze man,,, How did you come up with those??? The sticky stuff is no good to use again, as those are designed for around the clock use. To break it down, the 100ug/hr patches contain 10mg of fentanyl or 10,000ug. @ 100ug/hr, that is 100hr's or 4.17 days worth of fentanyl. So each patch should work for about 100 hour's if you are taking it on and off. The system is designed with 4l ayers, one that you remove when you apply it, then a silicone adhesive, a membrane, the fentanyl/alcohol mixture(along with a gel), and then a backing. Since the drug mixture travels through the membrane and the silicone, it stands to reason that you could simply wash the skin of the area where you are going to apply it and tape it on, because it should still travel through. You could wash the patch with a little water (just a little) to clean it as it could be contaminated. And make sure to leave the patch covered when not in use as it could evaporate. MAKE SURE that you do not cut the patch to remove the gel, as this could easily result in a fatal dose of fentanyl. Be careful with those....

DON"T DO THAT. You would have no way of knowing the dose. The numbers we are talking about would be so small that without some pretty expensive micro-pipettes you would have no idea how much you were taking. 1ug is equal to one millionth of a gram, so it is impossible to judge how much 100ug is without a micro-pipette.
All of the patches that I have ever seen (for any drug) work about the same, they all have the membrane that controls drug excretion, if the patch really is a 100ug/hr patch then there should still be some left in it. It may be dirty, or it may have evaporated if it was left out. But I can't stress enough that you shouldn't mess with any type of extraction, just far too dangerous. If in doubt just toss them.
