The last time I went on a chat room was back in 2004. Back then, I just typed 'chat room' into google and went into a chat room where I chatted w/ others. It's like, you have a user name, you see other usernames of people in the room, and you type and see the words others have typed.
Now, I try to find a chat room like this and I can't find any. What the fuck happened? Where can I find traditional rooms like that?
i repeated what you did ... i got 64.8 million responses !
the first page had two of the biggest chat room supporters/groups out there .
a lot of groups have become specialized and privatized ... gotta join their club . this is largely due to all the nasty stuff that happens when anyone can pop in ... and the efforts involved in policing it all .
if you are also refering to the "java chat" (and similar styles) , there are plenty of them out there ... i belong to two groups ... they do have a java/webpage driven entry .
beyond that , i'm not sure of what you mean .
ps ... i think this needs to have the title modified ... nws (words) .

"Chatrooms" simply evolved into this. I used to spend hours in chatrooms too. There's still plenty out there, but most people have turned to forums instead.

a chatroom I used to haunt has gone to shit, all the regs that were there are gone now, and I hardly ever talk to any of them anymore. Forums are better IMO anyway. but at times they can be hard to follow, if the posting gets to going real fast.
