View Full Version : The Chocolate from Verizon/LG
My cell phone plan expires next week and Im getting a new phone. I was thinking the chocolate since its got a > 1megapixel camera, mp3 and looks pretty cool. I mainly text message and have heard some rumors that its tough to use for texting due to close buttons and them only being like a touch pad. Anyone have this that can comment?
Why not get the enV (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=988) (or even the 8600 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=999)), especially since the enV was designed for texting?
I heard the ENV was discontinued. Ill check it out though when i go in. Thanks, if its still around ill consider it.

Check out the VX8300 by LG. It's the newer version of the 8100, which I have now. It's got a 1.3 megepixel camera, and an awsome mp3 player(with purchase of memory card). I use my 8100 for mainly texting, and it's been great.

No. It was released less than a month ago. I would also look at the 8600.
I ended up going with the chocolate. Its great, looks cool and texts very well for what i expected. Tons of different themes. The only draw back is there is no headphone jack and that you need some stupid little plug to use the headphones (for music).
Other than that i would recommend it to anyone in the market for a new phone.

I dnt quite like the Chocolate LG, a friend has it and it doesnt appeal to me. I was checking out the Nokia series.
In fact I stumbled over something that really impressed me while snooping around on phones...imagine your car on your cellphone... scary huh? here's what i read... Vertu Cellphone or the mst expensive cellphones in the world... (http://www.fourseadiamonds.com/forum/art-jewelry/1599-vertu-cellphone-mst-expensive-cellphones-world.html)

I've got a Chocolate LG, and love it. The close proximity of the buttons does make excessive texting a bit annoying (I end up using my finger nails instead of my whole finger to push the buttons), but I'm the type that will call instead of having a conversation over text messages. The camera takes decent quality pictures, and the 2GB memory card I've got in it holds plenty of mp3s for me to listen to. However, the more you use it as an mp3 player, the less battery life you'll see.
Hold the phone in the store, and see if you can text on the pad. If you're big into texting, I doubt this is the phone for you.

I just got an 8600, and the new hue. I like the hue better than the LG8600, but they are both good phones. I think the hue is a better choice, and both are difficult to IM esp if you have big hands. fat fingers or long nails.

had the chocolate, was OK but for texting sucks. Changed last month for the LG ENV, it is absolutely fabulous. great pics, mp3 player, mp3 as ringtones, and very cool when unfolds..
My Samsung Glyde > your phone.

Yea, I switched from a Chocolate to an EnV after about 3 days worth of having it. It was cool, but to me it was form over function. Couldn't handle it.
