Here are a few pics of a recent hike up Mt Rose. The peak is only 10776 feet.

First pic is of an area called Sheep Flats. The lake in the background is Lake Tahoe.

This is the first good view you have of the summit of Mt Rose.

This pic is a little closer to the top, trail gets steep after this area.

This is a shot of Relay Peak, you could hit it one the way up Mt Rose if you wanted to. Only adds a few miles to the hike.

This is what the trail looks like after you get above the tree line. Gets windy up here sometimes. 60+MPH.

This is the wind shelter at the top. Again lake in background is Lake Tahoe.

It was a lot of fun. I am still working on figuring out the new camera body. Not too bad though. As I get more stuff taken I will post more in this forum.

Me too actually. I was trying to give my mom an idea of what the trail looked like on the way up. I ended up taking more than 120 pics that trip.

I will post more later.

Beautiful shots! I'd love to see that part of the country and do some hiking. What kind of camera are you using? The color reproduction is outstanding.

My fav is the first one as well. Rep :)

I have been using Nikon camera bodies for years. Just recently I finally made the switch over to full time digital. These shots were with a Nikon D80. Like I said above, when I fully figure out all the features on this body I will post more.
