this was taken at a friend's place . the mosquitos were pretty thick !
i left it as a full file in case someone would like to use it as wallpaper .

That's a sweet shot man! Did you have the flash on? I try not to use it in low light situations such as a sunset or sunrise. Sometimes it can't be avoided though....like when I don't have a tripod, and there is NO WAY I can hold my hands steady enough for a long shutter. Keep shootin'!

it was shot at f8.0 @ 1/20 second (asa eqv 200) with flash , manual focus .
i wound up about 6 feet back from the weeds and did optical zoom to frame them in ... this took care of the flash level on the weeds .
the focus was the far treeline . the weeds are slightly out of focus ... a higher fstop would have given me more depth of field (f8.0 is as high as my cam goes) but in this case it is ok as the eye can only focus well on one thing at a time (and in low light the pupil is wide open , depth of field is shallow) . i was attempting to mimic how the eye would see it (to a degree) .

most built in flashes are only good out to 10 feet or so . in this case there are two seperate exposures to deal with ... the dark foreground (flash) and the sunset . juggling the two things took four shots to before i was happy with the exposure ... the pix is not photoshopped , the file is untouched .

no tripod ... i found a chunk of wood and dug a hole to get it to the right height . :cool:
